Chapter 3

The next night, Rose crouches in the shadows, watching the facility from a distance. It's larger than she expected, with multiple guards and heroes patrolling the perimeter. She takes a deep breath, ready to put her plan into action.

"Bakugo sure likes to test people. This place is crawling with guards. Doesn't matter. I've handled worse." She thinks to herself.

She moves in silently, using her Siphon quirk strategically to drain minor guards' energy and strength – just enough to gain access without alerting the rest. She takes the opportunity to slip past the front gate and the strength she gained is used to take down a guard post. The clock ticking, but Rose stays confident.

She reaches the secured room where the intel is kept. Using the guard's stolen access code, she bypasses the security and slips inside.

"Piece of cake. Now just grab a few restricted files and get out." She thinks.

Just as she's about to reach for a stack, an alarm blares. A hidden sensor she hadn't detected. The door slams shut behind her, and metal shutters bar it. Rose curses under her breath, looking around for an escape route.

Suddenly, the lights dim and an amplified voice echoes through the room.

"Whoever you are, you've made a big mistake breaking in here. Surrender now, or we'll use force."

Rose smirks, undeterred.

"Sorry, surrender isn't in my vocabulary."

She quickly chucks the pile of files into her bag. At the same moment, she spots a computer terminal displaying encrypted files – information that could be valuable to Bakugo's plans. She hesitates for a split second, knowing her priority is to get out, but curiosity gets the better of her.

"This could be useful. Might as well make the most of it while I'm here."

She begins to download the data onto a nearby flash drive. As she waits, the door is blasted open, and two pro heroes she had never seen before burst into the room.

The first hero moves first, a blur of motion as he tries to grab Rose. She dodges, just barely, and extends her hand, making contact with his arm for a split second. She feels the rush of energy as her Siphon quirk activates, draining enough of his energy to slow him down. Her reflexes sharpen with the increase of energy.

"Nice try. But I think I'll borrow that," she states.

The hero's speed quirk is reduced, and he's stunned at the realization.

Rose smirks, enjoying the thrill of the fight. She lands a few quick blows on the second hero but he barely flinches. She quickly realizes that she doesn't have enough strength drained from the first hero to fight against him.

Think Rose. You slowed one down but still aren't strong enough to take the other down. Gotta use his quirk against him.

She uses the stolen energy to maneuver around the second hero, positioning herself near the reinforced door. The hero charges at her with a roar, throwing a massive punch. At the last second. Rose dodges, and his fist smashes through the barred metal door.

The first hero comes back, regaining some strength, but she dodges a punch and grabs his wrist, draining the rest of his energy and feeling a power surge.

"Thanks for the boost! But I've got places to be," she states.

She races out of the room with the flash drive in hand, the second hero having foolishly used up his quirk on a powerful punch that she dodged earlier. She heads to the central control room, intent on leaving the heroes with a parting gift. She uploads a virus from a flash drive she brought to disable the facility's surveillance system and sets off a series of alarms throughout the building, causing confusion and forcing the heroes to scatter in response. She grins, making her escape through a side corridor. As she runs, she hears voices echo throughout the halls of an intruder heading east.

Time to disappear

She exits the facility just as backup heroes arrive, diving into the shadows of the facility's backstreets. She breathes heavily, exhilarated but aware she's made a lot of noise – more than she should have.

Rose returns to Bakugo's headquarters, adrenaline still pumping through her veins. She throws the stack of restricted files on the table in front of Bakugo with a smirk.

"Here's your precious intel. Oh, and by the way, I grabbed a little something extra."

She holds up the flash drive that has the data she downloaded earlier.

Bakugo picks up the stack of files, flipping through the contents before looking at the flash drive. His expression is hard to read, but there's a flicker of interest.

"So, you decided to improvise, huh? Didn't I say to keep it simple, dumbass?" he says.

Rose shrugs, still grinning.

"Simple's boring. Figured you'd appreciate a little bonus."

Kirishima looks impressed, giving a thumbs-up.

"That's some guts, Rose. But man, Bakugo's not gonna like that you went off-script..."

Kaminari chimes in with a grin.

"Yeah, but you gotta admit, she got the job done!"

Bakugo's eyes narrow, but there's a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"You did good, but, hell, you also made a lot of noise. If they track that back to us, you're responsible," he comments.

Rose laughs.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll take the blame. But if that data turns out to be useful, I expect a little credit too."

Bakugo looks at her, a mix of frustration and admiration in his gaze.

"You've got some damn guts; I'll give you that. Just don't make it a habit, dumbass. This isn't a game."

"Who said I'm playing?" Rose smirks.

Bakugo nods, accepting her challenge.

"Fine. You've earned your damn place. For now. But next time...follow my orders, or we're done."

Rose tilts her head, her grin widening.

"Got it, boss man. But if you keep giving me these boring jobs, don't blame me if I spice things up."

Kirishima laughs and Kaminari speaks up.

"I think we're gonna have a lot more fun around here with you, Rose."

Bakugo shoots them both with a glare but can't hide his smirk.

"Fun's not the damn point. But yeah...maybe we will."

Kirishima grins, giving Rose a friendly nudge.

"Welcome to the team, Rose. Looks like you've already made things more interesting."
