The atmosphere in the compound has shifted. Bakugo's group moves quietly, packing their belongings discreetly, knowing they need to leave before Rio catches wind of their plan. Rose, however, begins to sense that something is off.
"Why is everyone acting so secretive?" she wonders, her gaze lingering on Kaminari as he subtly stuffs clothes into his bag. She feels a growing sense of unease—Bakugo's been distant, and the group has been unusually quiet around her.
Meanwhile, Bakugo finds himself in another private conversation with Grandma, seeking her advice on the best way to leave without raising suspicion.
"I need to get my group and Rosalia out of here before Rio catches on. But we need somewhere safe—somewhere with no ties to her family," Bakugo says, his voice low but urgent.
Grandma nods, her sharp eyes studying Bakugo. "I understand," she says in her broken Japanese. "There's a place, far from here. No connections, no one knows you. South America. You could start fresh. But... it will be dangerous to leave. Rio will notice."
Bakugo tightens his grip on the edge of the table. "We'll take the risk. Just tell me how to do it without tipping him off."
"Leave at night," Grandma advises. "Make it seem like you're going on a mission—Rio won't question it. Once you're far enough, head to the airport. I can arrange a jet, but you must be quick."
In another part of the compound, Rose sits in Rio's study, waiting for him to finish his work. She's lost in thought, trying to make sense of the strange behavior of her group, when the door opens, and Diego steps in.
"Rosalia," Diego says smoothly, his voice filled with false charm as he closes the door behind him. "It's good to see you alone. I've been meaning to talk to you."
Her eyes narrow as she looks up at Diego, already on guard. "What does he want now?" she thinks, her instincts telling her that this conversation is not going to end well.
Diego steps closer, leaning casually against the desk. "I've been thinking," he says, his gaze lingering on her. "You and I... we used to be something great. We had chemistry—both in battle and out of it. Don't you miss that?"
"I don't," Rose replies sharply, standing up to create distance between them. "Whatever we had is in the past, Diego. I've moved on."
Diego's smirk widens as he steps closer again, ignoring the clear rejection in her voice. "You say that, but I can see it in your eyes, Rosalia. You're not happy with Bakugo. He's not like us. He doesn't understand you like I do."
Rose clenches her fists, her patience wearing thin. "Back off, Diego," she warns, her voice low and dangerous. "I'm with Bakugo, and I'm happy. You're wasting your time."
"Am I?" Diego murmurs, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face. "Or are you just scared to admit you miss how things were? You and I could be powerful together, Rosalia. We could take over—forget your cousin, forget Bakugo."
She slaps Diego's hand away, stepping back as her anger flares. "I told you to back off," she snaps. "You're delusional if you think I would ever go back to you."
Just as the tension between her and Diego reaches its peak, Bakugo walks past the study. Something in the air shifts, and Bakugo's instincts kick in.
"Something's wrong", Bakugo thinks, his senses sharpening as he hears raised voices coming from the study. He storms in, his eyes narrowing as he sees Diego standing too close to Rose.
"What the hell's going on here?" Bakugo growls, his voice dripping with anger as he glares at Diego.
Diego chuckles, stepping back but not without throwing a smug look Bakugo's way. "Just a conversation between old...friends," Diego says lightly. "No need to get all territorial."
Bakugo steps forward, his fists clenched. "I'm only gonna say this once, Diego," he warns, his voice low and lethal. "Stay the hell away from her."
Diego shrugs, clearly not taking the threat seriously. "We'll see about that," he says with a wink before sauntering out of the room.
