Hugh:

I can't seem to get her out of my head, Katie. I love the sound of her name, specifically when she says it. Throughout the month, it's been on a loop in my head.

After my relationship with Lizzie, I thought I was forever spoiled, but Katie is like a breath of fresh air. I find it incredibly easy to be around her, and as much as my friends give me shit for my crush, they all like her too.

I was mortified when I saw Gibsie practically dragging the girl into the lunch room and then Johnny having to physically stop her from fleeing, but by the end of the lunch period we were both smiling ear to ear. Talking with her was easy, and the whole table appeared to accept her, Patrick was standoffish but that was Feely for you.

We almost never invited girls to sit at our table, the main reason being the sheer lack of girls who attended Tommen, there were less than five in our year, and the other reason being that the boys didn't want the drama that girls brought. However, I felt safe inviting Katie, she didn't seem like the type to start drama, or break up a friend group by asking them to pick sides...

I kind of forced her to give me a copy of her class schedule and have been diligently walking her to and from all her classes and eating lunch with her everyday. For the first two days, she insisted that I didn't need to walk with her or hold her books, but since Wednesday she's just thanked me.

The lunch hours we've spent together have been great, we've learnt a lot about each other and I can't imagine not spending that time together anymore. Logically I know I'm being a complete knob falling for this girl I barely know, but she's different, she makes me feel good and like I'm needed in a different way than it was with Lizzie, with Katie I don't just feel needed but I feel wanted as well.

Today is Friday, the day of the match and I'm anxiously waiting to see if Gibsie will be able to pull through on his promise to bump me up from a sub for this game. As second years, all of us except for Johnny are subs, not for long though I reckon.

I've learnt to never trust Gibsie in his crazy antics, or rely on them, but I've found myself really hoping this particular hairbrain scheme actually pans out, because I would love to play for Katie.
