Girl Talk

Katie:

"Come on girl, spill" Aoife demands sitting at the end of my bed.

Casey, who is lying on my bedroom floor speaks up, "Every detail, you leave us for one month and you have a bleeding rugby dream boat for a boyfriend." Aoife knew most of what happened save for Friday but Casey didn't and she was feeling very left out.

"Well, technically you two left me at primary school first." I asked putting off their questions, they both levelled stares at me and I conceded in the battle of wills. "Okay... well we met on the first Friday of school, and he carried my book for me to class." the two girls let out a collective squeal. "And then on the next Monday, his friends found me and asked me if I wanted to sit with Hugh at lunch, and they brought me to him." 

"So he has like henchmen?" Casey asks.

"No, they're his friends, his teammates, anyways after that we have eaten lunch everyday since." I can feel myself blush as my friends release oohs and awws "And he walks me to all my classes, I think he's got my schedule memorized." Casey abruptly stands up and then pretends to faint due to an overload of swooning.

"And then I helped his friends, so Hugh and them could play at the game on Friday, and I met his sister, she's really nice. She's actually friends with Joey's sister, they go to the same school." Aoife's ears pick up at the mention of the troubled Lynch boy, but she only offers a noncommittal shrug.

"Anyways, after the game which they totally won, we walked back to my class to get my backpack and he asked me." I was blushing now.

"And?" Casey and Aoife ask at the same time.

"And what?" I ask innocently.

"And? he kiss you or what?" Casey asks.

I'm blushing all the way to my ears, "um...it's personal."

"Like hell, your first kiss is personal, we deserve to know." Aoife pushes.

Casey adds, "You're sweating like a Priest in a brothel, what did you two get up to?" she asks eyeing me suspiciously, Both of them were much more experienced than I was, even when they were my age, they had more experience and were more knowledgable.

"Nothing like that, we just kissed." I say blocking my view of them with my hair.

"Just once?" Casey prods further.

"Twice."

"You cheeky devil" Aoife puts her hand up to give me a high five, and I begrudgingly return the gesture.

"How was it? Was it out of nowhere, did it take you by surprise?" Casey's now giving me the fourth degree.

"It was good, I knew it was coming though."

"Did he announce it or something?" Casey chuckled, "Send you an itinerary?"

I was feeling embarrassed now, "No, he lifted me onto my desk and asked."

"He lifted you up? That is bloody sexy, who knew? Rugby boys." Aoife is fake swooning holding a hand to her forehead. "You're all grown up now Katie, we have no more to teach you."

"Well until..." Casey says wiggling her eyebrows.

"Until what?" I ask and Aoife gives me a knowing look "Oh" they were talking about sex. "Well, I'm afraid we'll have to save that discussion until we're planning my wedding."

"You can't be serious, Katie its 2000." Casey says.

"Leave the girl alone, I think that's very admirable Katie, I'm proud of you." Aoife takes my hand in hers.

"What if... Hugh wants to and..." I cut myself off before finishing, I hadn't thought about it, what if Hugh expected things of me? Things I wasn't willing to give?

"If he's a good lad, he won't pressure you, and if he does just tell us and we'll dispose of him." Casey says matter of factly with a sinister grin.

"What she said" Aoife says and wraps her arm around me, "seriously if he gives you any trouble just come to us and we'll help."

"Thank you" and I really mean it, I don't know what I do without them.
