Patrick:

My body was practically vibrating, from the exhilaration of touching her. I had kissed girls, but nothing had made me feel this way before.

My hands had been the only thing in between us and I had to centre my breathing multiple times throughout the encounter.

Bella always set me on edge, and I wanted nothing more than to defend Katie when Bella started her verbal attack. I was just on the edge of intervening when I saw Cormac approaching from the corner of my eye and I instantly knew he and Bella were up to something. I was already in motion before Cormac was able to fully undo the knot securing Katie's bathing suit top. The thought of how she looked in that swimsuit was doing things to me, and I felt both electric and shameful for objectifying her.

I really don't know how I managed to retie the knot, without my own hands shaking. The act of retying it for her felt beyond intimate and I kept having to shake my hands out.

It took all of my restraint to not start a fight with Cormac, I knew he was just a pawn but I couldn't quite fight my violent impulses, so I settled on shoving him into the wall.

Johnny, had followed me into the house, meaning that Katie had been left alone with that psycho, but I didn't know what I would do if I went back out there.

We joined Hugh who was sitting in the living room, frowning at his phone. We sat down and I tried to expel the energy growing inside me by taking deep breaths.

"God, I hate her." I say in an attempt to feel more in control.

"Who?" Hugh asked.

"Bella" I answer.

"What'd she do to you?"

I just sigh, but Hugh waits patiently for an actual answer, that I really can't give him.

"She was being a bitch to Katie, tried to recruit Cormac to embarrass her." Johnny offers.

"Embarrass her? How?"

"Bella started nagging her about her towel, so when she took it off, Cormac snuck up behind her and tried to untie her top." Johnny states, matter-of-factly.

"He what?" Hugh was righttfully enraged, the way I wish I could properly express.

"Feely saved the day though."

"Thanks." Hugh says to me and I just nod. He's still angry though, "He's my teammate, what the fuck?" Hugh stands up and walks quickly to the backyard, Johnny and I follow curiously and find Hugh hitting Cormac. Hugh was known to be a little hotheaded and quick to start a fight, but this didn't add up. Something else must have been at play to explain his irrational behaviour.

"She's my girl, what were you thinking?" He says as he rears back and punches him again, square in the jaw. Cormac is trying to fight back, but he's really no match for Hugh.

As much as I want to watch Hugh, beat Cormac to a bloody pulp, I start to trying to pull Hugh back as Johnny pulls Cormac back. Usually in a fight like this, everyone would be crowding around to watch, but Hugh must have pulled him to the side of the house and we were secluded and away from spectators.

"What's the big deal?" Cormac asks and I still looking back at him, "From what I hear, you've all seen it before."

"What are you talking about?" Johnny asks still holding his hands behind his back.

"Don't act like you four don't pass the little redhead around." Cormac responds. I feel sick at the implications of what he's saying.

"You're fucking delusional" Hugh says struggling to get out my hold. "Katie's just mine, we would never do that."

"Whatever you say." I let my grip on Hugh loosen and let him pummel him some more, God knows he deserves it, I can't seem to make myself move to retain Hugh again, until I hear a small voice.

I look behind me to see Katie standing there, looking very scared of the scene in front of her, "Hugh what are you doing?" She asks, dropping her towel and walking towards him. Hugh's stopped his attack and just looks guiltily at Katie who has tears in her eyes.

When Hugh doesn't respond, she turns to look at me and I hate seeing her look so sad and confused, "What's going on?"

"We told Hugh about what Cormac tried with you, and then Cormac started talking out of his ass, and..." I didn't have any other excuses.

"What was he saying?" She asks in a small voice, and I use every ounce of control I have to not pay how she's currently dressed any attention, which is proving to be difficult.

"Don't worry yourself with it Kate, it's bullshit." Johnny says holding Cormac up.

"Hey lads, have you seen where Claire went...." Gibsie says walking into the tense situation, "Christ." He says taking in the view. He walks over to Katie, who's now fully crying, "What's wrong Katie?" He consoled her, "Shhhh...What's going on?"

"You guys aren't even discreet about it." Cormac says and I want to permanently shut him up.

"Discreet about what?" Gibsie asks.

"Let's just forget about all of this, Cormac call someone to pick you up and we'll just forget about it." Johnny says, using a diplomatic tone.

"Only if he gets it through his thick skull, Katie's a good girl, she wouldn't do that." Hugh says sharply, "and none of us would take advantage of a girl like that."

"I'm very lost right now" Gibsie says, as he picks up the discarded towel on the ground and puts it over Katie's shoulders.

"Later, Gibs" Johnny clips out and Gibsie nods looking irritated at being out of the loop.

Thanks for reading! This is going to have one or two more parts, and they will hopefully be posted tomorrow.  - H <3
