Patrick:
Thirteen minutes? what did they need thirteen minutes for? I was pacing around the room, granted not in straight lines due to the fact I had lost count of how many beers I had drank but thirteen minutes in a game of seven minutes in heaven was excessive.
Finally, Katie and Hugh emerged looking all kinds of dishevelled. Thankfully, most people in the room had left the room before this idiotic game began and everyone else was too drunk to remember how Katie looked with her puffy lips and smeared lipstick.
One of the girls moved toward me with the bowl, but I just walked away into the main room, I had no intention of making out with some random girl, I would have to see in school the next day, I only kissed Lizzie, to spare Katie from the embarrassment of having her boyfriend kiss another girl right in front of her. I sincerely hope that Hugh wouldn't have actually kissed her, but Lizzie made Hugh act recklessly and I couldn't risk it for Katie's sake.
I found an open chair and drank some more.
I must have died, because when I opened my eyes, an angel was standing above me, no not an angel, Katie.
"Hi" I was slurring my words "Katie Kat" She smiled at that. "Can you sing for me?"
"How much did he drink?" Johnny asked.
"I don't know, but his Mam is supposed to be here to pick us up in ten minutes."
"Where's Hugh?" Johnny asked.
"Upstairs, what do I do?"
"Uhh... here." Johnny pulled me up and I draped my arms over Johnny and Katie's shoulders, they were very uneven crutches.
I tried again, "Katie Kat, please sing for me."
"What is he on about?" Johnny asked and Katie just pinched the crease between her eyebrows.
Johnny then deposited my head inside the sink and sprayed freezing cold water on my face, "Bloody hell." I yell abruptly.
"Oh my God, here" Katie started drying my face and hair with a towel and I leaned into her touch.
"Sing for me." I say, slurring my words "please."
"No."
"Why not?"
"I'm not singing for you."
"But you have the voice of an angel."
"I don't think I've ever heard Feely talk this much." Johnny comments and Katie laughs.
"Um... maybe some water will help?"
"Worth a shot." Johnny offers helping me stand, "I've never seen him actually drunk, he's not usually like this."
Katie looks out the window and her face pales, "his Mam's here!"
"Okay, we could tell her that he's sick? He'll definitely be puking at some point so it will check out."
"What if he pretends to sleep and you carry him out and he just sleeps all the way home?"
"How will he get in his house without his Mam knowing?"
"Is your Mam picking you up?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, call her and tell her to pick you up at Patrick's house and we'll tell his mam you desperately need something from his room and you can carry him in."
"I can't carry him on my own."
"What? But you're... are you sure?" Johnny just gives me a look before speaking again.
