Katie:
"You look beautiful" Hugh said pulling me in for a hug, maneuvering his arms around my wings, "My little angel." I blushed.
"Happy Birthday Hugh" I said pulling away to hand him his gift, he took it and kissed my forehead in thanks, placing it on the gift table.
"I'm sure I'll love it" he said grabbing my hand and leading me into the living room, where the majority of the guests were, it looked like most of the second year class, and some people from third and fourth year. It was overwhelming to say the least.
"You're here! I love your costume, you look super gorgeous!" Claire appeared suddenly, wearing a beautiful blue gown, looking exactly like a princess.
"No, you do" I respond examining her beautiful blonde curls in an updo, she beamed at me, and grabbed my arm leading me towards the drink table and supplied me with a glass of punch.
Their house was decorated to the nines, and the food was crazy, the sheer amount of it was absurd. There was pizza for dinner, and the cake supplied by Gibsie's mother was insane.
After about an hour, Hugh's parents announced they were going to have dinner across the street with Gibsie's mother and step-dad, and that we were all to be on our best behaviour, this is of course when the beer I had secured for Gibsie came out. I denied when offered, even though I had arranged it, I couldn't bring myself to drink it. I'm not opposed to alcohol but I wanted a clear head for the night.
"Katie, come here we're going to play truth or dare" Claire was summoning and leading me into a smaller room off the living room. A sort of sub party had formed and they were all sitting in a circle. I recognized Hugh, Patrick, Johnny, Gibsie, Pierce, a few other girls from year two and three, some more boys from the rugby team, and Lizzie Young.
Lizzie was wearing all black, a pointy hat and had intense witch like makeup. She eyed me warily.
Before sitting down I removed my wings, so I wouldn't bump into the people beside me, but instantly regretted it. "Woo hoo, take it off!" One of the older boys said, while the boys beside him whistled. I sat down blushing "Hey don't stop there, the show was just getting started." I fought the urge to cry.
"Shut the hell up, you eejits! What's the matter with you? That's my girl." Hugh said in a fit of rage. Gibsie, who was closer leaned over and smacked each of them in the head.
"It's fine, they were just joking." I said quietly to Hughie, even though I was thankful him and Gibs had my back, I hated violence and when people raised their voice. I sat down between Hugh and Patrick. My attention was brought to Patrick's drink, his hand was gripping it so tightly that I was surprised it hadn't slipped out of his hand entirely.
"Okay, here's the rules" Gibsie starts.
"Everyone knows the rules." Lizzie says in an annoyed tone.
"It's a different variation, let me finish" he looks back at her before continuing "It's normal truth or dare, except if you want to opt out of the dare or truth you can choose to spin this bottle." Oh God, I was in way over my head.
"Okay, first up, Pierce ask away." Gibsie says leaning his head on Claire's shoulder.
"Kavanagh, truth or dare?"
"Truth"
"How far have you have gone?" Huh? is that some kind of rugby thing?
Johnny gives him a bored expression and holds up four fingers, and all of the lads start cheering, I look up at Hugh and whisper "What are they talking about?"
