January 8th, 2005 (This is Katie's POV from chapter 4 of Redeeming Six!)

Katie:

Casey had basically barged into Aoife's house dragging me with her, and strutted into her bedroom, Aoife's mother had called us worried about Aoife and dropped the news that Joey had broken up with her two weeks ago. "We're staging an intervention." Casey says, and then adds, "That bastard dumps you on Christmas Day and you don't call!"

"Smooth Casey." I said entering Aoife's room, "Your mother called us, she's really worried about you, Aoife."

Casey added, "we all are."

To which Aoife responding with a loud groan, sinking into her mattress nodding her head to the downright depressing music she had playing. "Okay, you need to the song off, and climb out of your misery."

Aoife returned to crying, getting lost in the lyrics, "No this is the best part" she said between sniffles, "I'm fine..Really I am."

"Sure you are, that's why you have chocolate smeared all over your chin." Casey, was all tough love and I could only stand in awe.

Aoife responded, "I'm trying to process here, God, is that so terrible?"

Casey picked up the package of chocolate M&M's, "Then process by getting mad. Hell, get even. But don't get fat."

"Casey" I admonished, "You don't say things like that."

Casey wasn't sorry, "Well, sue me, because I said it. And I'm not going to sit back and watch my best friend self-destruct because her asshole ex dumped her at Christmas. I mean Christmas? After a year together? Who the hell even does that?"

If I were Aoife, Casey's harsh words would only make it worse for me, "Casey, please, you need to tone it down."

But Casey just continued, "You are worth ten of that dickhead, and I plan on reminding you of it."

Casey then started taking out the contents of her duffel bag, "What are you doing?" Aoife rightfully asked.

"The question you should be asking is what are we doing, and we, my dearest, oldest, most gorgeous friend in the whole wide world, are going to a house party."

Aoife was refusing immediately, "no, no, no. You're going to a house party. I'm not going anywhere."

Casey took it in stride, "Yes, you are, Katie's fella has a free house, and he's throwing this huge party before school starts back on Monday. They're having an actual DJ, with a mountain of free booze. It's going to be packed to the rafters  with all of his buddies from the rugby team, and you are going to come with us."

Aoife began her pointless protest once again, "No, I am absolutely not."

"Did you not hear me? I said it's going to be filled with rugby players, Aoife. Big, hot, sweaty, sexy rugby players."

"I don't care."

Casey continues on as if she doesn't even hear Aoife's adamant protests, "best of all, it's a Tommen party, so you don't have to worry about bumping into anyone from BCS, and by anyone I mean that good-for-nothing asshole."

"Casey, if you told me that the entire Irish rugby team was going to be in attendance, I still wouldn't come." She then proceeded to go on about how she was like a chocolate girl, or in a chocolate commercial. She was little delirious.

Casey not taking no for an answer, "Get up."

"I'm too sad."

"Which is exactly why I'm not leaving this room without you. Now, Katie, go and turn on the shower for our girl here," she ordered me, "And put this on, track two" she said handing me a CD of Christina Aguilera's Stripped album.

After that Aoife eventually conceded and we got Aoife ready while dancing and listening to up beat music.
