The sun had just dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over New York City as Y/n leaned against the window of Avengers Tower, staring out at the skyline. Her fingers traced the cold glass as she lost herself in thought. It wasn't often she had moments like this-quiet, peaceful.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket, snapping her out of her thoughts. She pulled it out, smiling when she saw Peter's name flash across the screen.
Peter: Wanna do something fun tonight?
Y/n raised an eyebrow, curiosity sparking. Peter had a knack for turning an ordinary evening into something special.
Y/n: Define "fun."
Seconds later, her phone buzzed again.
Peter: Meet me on the roof in 10 minutes. And trust me-it'll be awesome.
She chuckled, shaking her head as she pocketed her phone. Whenever Peter said "trust me," it usually meant an adventure was in store. Not that she minded. She quickly glanced in the mirror and threw on a jacket, tying her hair back before heading up to the rooftop.
When Y/n stepped out onto the rooftop, the cool night air greeted her, along with the sight of Peter in his Spider-Man suit, perched casually on the edge of the building. His mask was off, revealing his familiar mischievous grin.
"Hey there," he greeted, standing up and walking toward her with an infectious air of excitement. "Ready for our date?"
Y/n raised an eyebrow. "Date? On a rooftop?"
Peter laughed, shaking his head. "Nope, the rooftop is just the starting point. I've got something much more fun planned." He reached into his backpack and pulled out an extra harness. "How do you feel about swinging through the city?"
Her eyes widened as she stared at the harness in his hands. "You want me to... swing through New York with you? On your webs?"
Peter nodded, his grin growing wider. "Come on, it'll be fun! You trust me, right?"
Y/n bit her lip, feeling excitement and nerves bubbling inside her. "I've seen you swing through the city before, Peter. It looks incredible but... also slightly terrifying."
"It's not scary, I promise. You'll be with me the whole time. And I'm very good at catching you if anything goes wrong," he teased, winking at her.
Y/n sighed, but her smile betrayed her excitement. "Okay, fine. Let's do this."
Peter's face lit up as he helped her into the harness, checking the straps to ensure everything was secure. "You're going to love this," he said softly as he tightened the last buckle.
Once she was all set, Peter wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close. "Hold on tight," he murmured, his voice now lower but filled with excitement and affection.
Y/n clung to him, her heart racing as Peter shot a web into the night sky. With a swift tug, they were airborne, soaring through the cool night air. The city lights blurred beneath them as Peter swung gracefully from one building to the next, his webs shimmering in the glow of the streetlights.
Y/n's breath caught in her throat as they soared higher, her stomach flipping with each swing. "Whoa!" she gasped, tightening her grip on Peter.
He chuckled, glancing down at her. "You good?"
Y/n let out a breathless laugh, her fear quickly melting into exhilaration. "Yeah! This is... amazing!"
The wind whipped through her hair as they swung higher and faster, and soon, Y/n's nerves were replaced entirely by excitement. She could feel Peter's arm steady around her, guiding them effortlessly through the air. The city stretched beneath them like a living, breathing organism, its lights twinkling like stars as they flew through the night.
