The soft glow of New York City's skyline shimmered through the penthouse windows as Y/n leaned against the elevator wall, trying to calm her nerves. She wasn't nervous about the Avengers' "girls' night"-well, maybe a little-but the idea of being in the same room as some of the world's most iconic women. That, and the fact that she'd get to spend time with Wanda Maximoff, someone who, over the past year, had become more than just a mentor in magic.

Her moms, Agatha and Rio, were right beside her. In her dark blue jacket, white button-up shirt, and purple suit pants, Agatha looked ever the part of a powerful sorceress-calm, collected, yet always observant. Rio, wearing her sleek green-and-black bodysuit, seemed more relaxed but equally curious. It had been a long time since they'd reconnected with some of the Avengers, and Y/n could sense that both of her mothers were looking forward to the evening, though it carried its share of nostalgic weight for them.

"Remember," Agatha said quietly as the elevator doors dinged and slid open. "We're here to have fun. You don't have to prove anything tonight."

Rio shot Agatha a knowing look before adding with a wink, "But showing off a little magic wouldn't hurt either."

Y/n laughed, her nerves settling a bit. Her moms always knew how to ease her tension.

They stepped into the luxurious penthouse, where soft music played, and the warm glow of the city below filled the room. The space was vast, with sprawling couches, a table brimming with snacks, drinks, and a few elegant appetizers that looked like they belonged in a Michelin-star restaurant.

Pepper Potts greeted them first, her warm and gracious smile making everyone feel welcome. "Agatha! Rio! It's been too long." She hugged them both, then turned to Y/n with a twinkle in her eye. "And you must be Y/n. I've heard so much about you from your moms. It's lovely to meet you finally."

Y/n blushed slightly, but she offered a small smile in return. "Nice to meet you too, Ms. Potts."

"Please, call me Pepper," she said with a laugh before gesturing for them to join the rest of the group.

Natasha Romanoff stood nearby, holding a glass of wine while chatting with Maria Hill. Yelena Belova leaned casually against the wall while Kate Bishop had already made herself at home, feet propped up on the coffee table as she munched on snacks. And then, there was Wanda Maximoff-dressed simply in a maroon sweater and black jeans-who caught Y/n's eye almost immediately. There was an undeniable pull between them, one Y/n couldn't quite explain, but it was there. It had always been there.

Yelena shot Y/n a playful smirk. "Ah, there's the Harkness kid. Thought you might've chickened out." She winked, making Y/n laugh.

"Not a chance," Y/n retorted, feeling the playful energy from the younger Black Widow already lifting her spirits.

As the group settled into the evening, the conversation flowed naturally. Y/n listened with wide eyes as Natasha recounted an old mission, Maria chiming in now and then with deadpan commentary that left everyone laughing. Pepper and Agatha caught up like old friends, while Rio bonded quickly with Kate and Yelena, discussing the finer points of archery and combat training.

But throughout the night, Y/n kept finding her gaze drifting to Wanda, and each time, Wanda seemed to be looking back.

At one point, Wanda quietly went over to where Y/n stood near the edge of the room, pretending to be immersed in a plate of appetizers. Wanda leaned on the balcony doorframe, her voice soft but clear. "How's it going so far?"

Y/n turned, a little startled but immediately relaxed by the sight of Wanda. "It's good. It's wild being around everyone like this. But... in a good way," she said, her smile growing as she spoke.
