Winter Fun

The sun had barely risen, casting a soft glow over the freshly fallen snow, when Y/n excitedly bounded down the stairs, her thick woolen scarf trailing behind her. The entire world outside their Westview home had been transformed into a winter wonderland overnight, and Y/n was buzzing with excitement. Today was their snow day-a day set aside just for her, Rio, and Agatha to escape into the woods, away from the rest of the world, and enjoy the snow with a bit of magic.

"Do you think it's too early to wake them?" Y/n whispered to herself, glancing toward the closed bedroom door where her moms still slept. She toyed with the idea of creating a loud, magical snow explosion outside to wake them up, but decided against it. Her impish grin softened as she picked up her gloves, knowing they'd want to make the most of the day too.

As if on cue, she heard footsteps behind her. Rio appeared, a sleepy but amused expression on her face. Her thick, dark curls were tied up, and her coat hung loosely over her shoulders. "You're up early, mija," she said with a knowing smile, bending down to kiss Y/n's forehead. "Couldn't wait, huh?"

Y/n grinned sheepishly. "I'm ready for some winter magic! What do you think we should do first? Build a snowman? Go sledding? Make an enchanted snowball fight?"

Rio chuckled as she slipped on her boots. "I think we should make some hot chocolate first. Trust me, you'll need it." She glanced at the clock and then toward the stairs. "Where's Agatha?"

"Right here," came a voice from the hallway. Agatha, elegant as always even in her cozy winter coat and scarf, made her entrance with a dramatic flair. She waved her hand, and suddenly, the whole room filled with a soft, shimmering warmth that chased away the morning chill. "Can't have a proper snow day without keeping warm," she said, winking at Y/n.

Y/n's excitement bubbled over as she clapped her hands together. "Okay, now we're ready!"

The three of them set out, stepping into the sparkling woods that stretched beyond their backyard. The air was crisp, the snow crunching underfoot as they made their way into the heart of the forest. Towering trees stood like silent sentinels, their branches heavy with snow, and the morning sun filtered through, casting long shadows over the pristine white ground. It was the perfect setting for a day of magical adventures.

"Alright," Agatha said, stopping in a small clearing. "Let's see what you've got, mija. I want to see some creative magic today."

Y/n grinned, always eager for a magical challenge. "Oh, you're going to love this!"

With a flick of her wrist, she summoned a swirl of snow, shaping it into the form of a snowman. It hovered for a moment in the air, its round body and twig arms starting to take shape. Y/n concentrated, trying to add a little magical flourish to give the snowman life. But, as often happened with Y/n's spells, the magic surged unexpectedly. The snowman expanded rapidly, swelling until it was nearly the size of a small house before exploding into a flurry of snowflakes.

"Whoa!" Y/n cried out, her eyes wide with surprise as the snowstorm she had unintentionally summoned swirled around them, whipping through the trees with a gusty wind.

Rio burst out laughing, pulling her hat down tighter as snow pelted them. "That's quite the snowman, mija! Maybe a little too big?"

Agatha raised an eyebrow, trying her best to keep a straight face but failing miserably. "Well, that escalated quickly."

Y/n groaned, though she couldn't help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it. "Okay, so maybe I overdid it."

Agatha, still chuckling, waved her hand to calm the snowstorm. "You're getting better, darling, but maybe let's start with something a little smaller next time."

As the last of the snowflakes settled, Rio clapped Y/n on the back. "Don't worry. A little chaos never hurt anyone."

Y/n smirked, her cheeks flushed from the cold and laughter. "I'm just getting started."

With a mischievous grin, she conjured up a handful of snowballs and sent them flying toward Rio. The first one hit its target square in the shoulder, sending Rio stumbling back in mock surprise. "Oh, that's how it's going to be, huh?"

Before Y/n could respond, Rio retaliated with her own snowball, and soon enough, the three of them were embroiled in an all-out magical snowball fight. Snowballs zoomed through the air, enchanted by Y/n's spells to hover and zigzag unpredictably. Agatha, not one to be left out, summoned her own snowballs with perfect precision, hitting Y/n and Rio with practiced ease.

Y/n squealed as she darted behind a snowbank, barely dodging a particularly large snowball from Agatha. "Cheating with magic, Mama!" she called out, though her laughter betrayed her lack of seriousness.

"All's fair in magic and snowball fights," Agatha replied, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

As the snowball fight raged on, the magic around them seemed to take on a life of its own. Suddenly, small snow creatures-round and mischievous, with twig arms and pebble eyes-began to emerge from the snowbanks, joining in the fun. They flung snowballs at Y/n, Agatha, and Rio with surprising speed, their tiny, high-pitched giggles echoing through the woods.

"Did I... Did I make those?" Y/n asked, staring in astonishment at the little snow creatures.

Agatha raised an eyebrow, though she couldn't hide her smile. "Seems like your magic's evolving, baby. You're getting stronger."

Rio ducked as one of the creatures threw a snowball at her head. "Stronger, and more chaotic," she joked, though there was pride in her voice.

Y/n grinned, summoning more magic as the snowball fight grew even more intense. The snow creatures darted through the trees, their little snowball arms working tirelessly as they pelted the three witches from every direction. Y/n, Rio, and Agatha laughed uncontrollably, dodging and returning fire as the enchanted woods filled with the sounds of their playful battle.

After what felt like hours of snowy fun, the snowball fight finally began to wind down. Y/n, out of breath and grinning from ear to ear, flopped down onto a snowbank, her face flushed and her hair covered in snow. Agatha and Rio joined her, sitting on either side of her as they looked out at the snow-covered woods, the sky now glowing a soft pink as the sun began to set.

"That was... amazing," Y/n said, still catching her breath. "I don't think I've ever had that much fun."

Agatha smiled warmly, brushing a bit of snow from Y/n's hair. "I'm glad, darling. You did well today."

Rio leaned over, kissing Y/n's temple affectionately. "You always know how to surprise us, mija. Never a dull moment with you around."

Y/n leaned into her moms, feeling the warmth of their love radiating through the cold air. The day hadn't gone exactly as planned-things rarely did when magic was involved-but it had been perfect in its own chaotic, magical way.

As they made their way back home, the snow crunching beneath their boots and the sky turning from pink to a soft, dusky blue, Y/n couldn't help but smile. She had her family, her magic, and a winter wonderland to play in. What more could she ask for?

And as they reached the edge of the woods, Agatha turned to her with a sly grin. "How about we build that gingerbread house tomorrow?"

Y/n's eyes lit up. "A magical gingerbread house?"

Agatha chuckled. "Of course."

Rio laughed softly, shaking her head. "Let's just try to keep it from coming to life this time, okay?"

Y/n grinned, already looking forward to the chaos that would inevitably unfold. "No promises."
