The silence in the abandoned warehouse was suffocating, as if the walls themselves were closing in on them. The Young Avengers crouched low, their breaths shallow, trying to remain unseen. Y/n could feel her heart pounding in her chest, her senses on high alert. This mission wasn't supposed to be like this. It had been planned out-get in, grab the intel, and get out. Simple.
Yet here they were, trapped, with the oppressive weight of dark magic hanging in the air.
"Everyone stay close," Y/n whispered, her dark pink magic sparking faintly at her fingertips, ready to protect her team. The others-Peter Parker, Kate Bishop, Tommy, Billy, Lila Barton, and America Chavez-formed a tight circle, their eyes scanning the shadows.
But the darkness didn't stay still for long. It moved, swirling unnaturally, as if alive. A gust of icy wind blew through the warehouse, and with it came a figure cloaked in black, her glowing green eyes piercing the darkness. The sorceress floated toward them, her presence radiating malevolent energy.
"You thought you could sneak in and out unnoticed?" her voice hissed, dripping with venom. "Fools."
Before they could react, a wave of dark green magic surged from her hands, engulfing the group in an explosion of blinding light. Y/n felt a force hit her like a wall, knocking the air from her lungs as her vision blurred, the world twisting around her. Her friends' voices faded, drowned out by the overwhelming silence that followed.
The last thing she saw before everything went black was the terrified faces of her brothers, Tommy and Billy, reaching for her but unable to stop what was happening.
When Y/n's eyes fluttered open, the first thing she noticed was the warmth of home. The soft, familiar crackling of the fireplace, the gentle glow of candles on the mantle, the scent of sage that always lingered in the air when Agatha was nearby. She was home. She was safe.
Except, something was wrong.
The air felt heavier, suffocating in a way that made her chest tighten. Y/n stood in the center of the living room, her head spinning as she tried to make sense of her surroundings. It all looked so normal. But the feeling-it was all wrong.
"Mama? Mom?" she called out, her voice cracking slightly. Her heart pounded harder. Something was off.
Footsteps echoed softly down the hallway. Y/n turned to see Wanda and Agatha appear in the doorway, but they didn't greet her with their usual warmth. Their faces were cold, emotionless. It was like looking at strangers who wore the faces of her mothers.
"Mama?" Y/n's voice wavered, stepping toward them, desperate for any sign of comfort.
But Agatha's voice, usually so soft and full of affection, was sharp. Cold. "You failed us, Y/n."
Y/n froze, her eyes widening in shock. "W-what?"
"You put your brothers in danger," Wanda's voice cut through the air, harsh and biting. "Because of you, Tommy and Billy almost died. Do you realize what you've done?"
"No, I... I didn't mean to... I was trying to-" Y/n's words stumbled over themselves, her heart twisting painfully. "I-I didn't mean for anything to happen to them..."
"We trusted you," Agatha said, her eyes narrowing. "And you failed. You let us down."
The air seemed to grow colder as Wanda took a step closer, her expression hard. "You're no longer welcome in this house."
Y/n felt like the ground had been ripped out from under her. "No... no, you don't mean that... please, don't say that." Her voice broke, tears stinging her eyes. "Mama, I'm sorry-please, don't make me leave."
