The day dawned bright and clear, reflecting the happiness filling the air. Rio Vidal stood in the dressing room, gazing at herself in the mirror. Her wedding dress was simple yet stunning-a soft white gown flowing gracefully down her ankles. The long bell sleeves added an ethereal touch, and the subtle elegance suited her perfectly.
Behind her, Y/n was carefully fluffing the hem of her deep burgundy maid-of-honor dress, which complemented her complexion and added a touch of warmth to the room. "You look beautiful, Mom," Y/n said with a smile, her voice brimming with genuine admiration. Agatha's going to lose it when she sees you."
Rio turned, a soft laugh escaping her as she met her daughter's eyes in the mirror. "You think so?" she asked, her fingers brushing over the intricate lace on her sleeves. There was a vulnerability in her tone, rare for someone as confident as Rio, but weddings had a way of bringing emotions to the surface.
Y/n stepped closer, tilting her head thoughtfully as she adjusted a stray piece of her mom's hair. "I know so," she replied firmly. "She's probably already in awe just thinking about you. You're kind of hard to top, you know."
Rio chuckled, warmth flooding her chest as she reached out to hold Y/n's hands. "Having you as my maid of honor means the world to me, mija. I couldn't do this without you." Her voice softened, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
Y/n smiled warmly, squeezing her mom's hands. "You've always been there for me. Now it's my turn to be there for you."
The door creaked open, and Maria, Rio's younger sister, poked her head inside with a mischievous grin. She was dressed in a sleek olive-green bridesmaid's dress, her dark hair pinned back elegantly. "Are we having a heart-to-heart without me? I feel left out," she teased, stepping into the room.
Rio rolled her eyes fondly. "You're always so dramatic, Maria."
"Must run in the family," Maria shot back with a smirk before turning to Y/n. "But seriously, can we take a moment to talk about how stunning your mom looks? I'm almost mad she's setting the bar so high."
Y/n laughed, nodding. "Right? It's almost unfair."
Maria crossed her arms, mock glaring at Rio. "If Agatha faints when she sees you, it's on you. I'm not carrying her down the aisle."
Rio groaned, her cheeks flushing slightly. "Stop it, you two. You're making me nervous."
Maria softened, stepping closer to her sister. "I'm serious, though. You're breathtaking, Rio. I've never seen you look so happy."
Rio's lips trembled as she tried to keep her emotions in check. "That's because I am," she admitted, her voice thick with emotion. "I've got my family here, and I'm marrying the love of my life. It doesn't get better than this."
Maria hugged her sister tightly, careful not to wrinkle her dress. "Well, you deserve it all. And just so you know, if Agatha ever steps out of line, she'll have to answer to me."
Y/n snickered. "You and me both, aunt Maria. Agatha's on a very short leash with us."
Rio laughed, shaking her head as she pulled both Maria and Y/n into a group hug. "I don't think she'll be too worried. She's wrapped you two around her finger just as much as I do."
Maria feigned offense, but Y/n grinned, leaning her head against Rio's shoulder. "Maybe. But don't tell her that. We like to keep her on her toes."
Rio smiled, her heart full as she held her daughter and sister close. "Thank you, both of you. For everything. I'm the luckiest woman in the world."
"Correction," Maria said with a wink, stepping back. "Agatha is the luckiest woman in the world. But you're definitely a close second."
Y/n laughed, nudging her aunt. "Now, who's being dramatic?"
