The salty breeze wrapped around them as they made their way down the sandy path, the rhythmic sound of crashing waves growing louder with each step. Y/n walked barefoot, her sandals dangling in one hand, savoring the warmth of the sand beneath her feet. Rio carried their beach bag while Agatha trailed slightly behind, her sunhat tilted to shield her face.

"You know," Y/n said, glancing over her shoulder with a smirk, "this might be the most 'normal' thing we've ever done together."

Agatha chuckled, her eyes glinting mischievously. "Define normal."

Rio grinned, adjusting her sunglasses. "You mean we're not counting last month's enchanted picnic in the floating forest?"

Y/n laughed. "That was definitely less normal."

As they reached a quiet stretch of beach, they found a perfect spot near the water and began setting up. Rio laid out their blanket with practiced ease while Agatha arranged their cooler and charmed seashells, which hummed with soothing melodies as soon as they touched the sand.

"Ambiance, courtesy of your mom," Rio said, winking at Y/n. "Now, who's ready to practice some magic?"

Y/n's eyes lit up. "You're going to teach me how to move the tides, right?"

"Exactly," Agatha replied, stepping forward and pulling her shawl tighter around her shoulders. "It's a subtle art. The ocean isn't something you control-it's something you ask for help."

The lesson began with Agatha guiding Y/n through the motions. Rio stood back, arms crossed, watching with pride and amusement. Y/n concentrated, her hands moving in graceful arcs as her purple and green aura flickered around her. The tide responded with her gestures, small waves rising and falling in rhythm.

Y/n grinned, exhilarated, but in her excitement, she miscalculated. A particularly spirited wave surged forward, drenching Rio and Agatha.

"Y/n!" Agatha exclaimed, laughing as she lifted her soaked skirt.

"Sorry!" Y/n giggled, her face turning red.

Rio shook her head, water dripping from her hair. "You've got great aim, mija."

They spent the afternoon playing in the water, collecting shells, and building a sandcastle that Rio enchanted into a bustling little kingdom. Tiny sand figures marched along the battlements, their tiny spears glinting in the sun. Y/n added her magical touch, creating miniature ocean waves lapping at the castle's edge.

As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a golden glow over the horizon, the three of them sat on their blanket, watching the waves.

"You know," Rio said, her voice soft, "this beach holds a special place in our family history."

Y/n tilted her head curiously. "Oh? Why's that?"

Rio glanced at Agatha, her eyes warm. "It's where we came when your mom was pregnant with you. She was about seven months along, and we were both desperate for a break from the chaos of life back then."

Agatha smirked, leaning back on her hands. "And by 'chaos,' she means I was grumpy, hormonal, and generally unbearable."

"You weren't unbearable," Rio said, her tone teasing. "You were... spirited."

"Spirited," Agatha echoed, rolling her eyes. "That's one way to put it."

Rio laughed, then continued, "Anyway, I suggested we take a trip to the coast, thinking the fresh air would be good for both of us. Agatha, of course, refused to drive."

"I hate driving," Agatha interjected. "You're better at it; besides, it gave me a chance to put my feet up."

Rio nodded, a fond smile playing on her lips. "So, I drove us here. One hand was on the wheel, the other holding her hand, making sure she was comfortable. Every so often, I'd ask if she needed anything-water, snacks, a different playlist-"

"And I told you every time that I was fine," Agatha said, leaning into Rio with a soft smile. "But you wouldn't stop fussing."

"Of course, I wouldn't," Rio said, brushing a strand of Agatha's hair behind her ear. "You were carrying our future. I wasn't going to take any chances."

Y/n listened intently, her heart swelling with affection. "So, what did you do when you got here?"

Rio's gaze turned to the horizon, her voice filled with nostalgia. "We found a quiet spot, much like this one. Agatha stretched out on the blanket, resting her head on my lap. I played with her hair while we talked about everything and nothing."

Agatha chuckled. "Mostly you worrying about whether I was too hot or if the baby was kicking enough."

Rio shrugged, unabashed. "I was a nervous wreck. I must've checked her belly several times to feel you move."

"And every time, you'd look up at me with that same worried expression," Agatha said, her voice soft. "But the truth is, I loved it. You made me feel so... cared for. Safe."

Rio reached for Agatha's hand, squeezing it gently. "I just wanted to ensure you knew how much you meant to me. Both of you."

Y/n blinked rapidly, trying to hide the tears welling in her eyes. "That sounds... amazing. Like, picture-perfect."

"It was," Agatha said, her voice filled with warmth. "Even with all your mom's worrying, it was one of the most peaceful days of my life."

"And now, we get to share this with you," Rio added, turning to Y/n. "Our little miracle."

Y/n blushed, her gaze dropping to her lap. "I'm not exactly little anymore."

Agatha reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair from Y/n's face. "No, but you'll always be our miracle."

They sat in companionable silence as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the world in hues of pink and orange. The enchanted seashells continued to hum softly, their melody blending seamlessly with the sound of the waves.

Rio pulled a blanket around the three of them, holding her family close. "This," she said softly, "is what it's all about. Moments like this."

Agatha rested her head on Rio's shoulder, her fingers entwined with hers. "Agreed. No magic, no battles. Just us."

Y/n leaned into them, her voice steady and sure. "I'm glad we're here. Together."

Rio kissed Agatha's temple, her voice low but full of conviction. "Always."
