Another year had passed since Y/n had been rescued by the Avengers and taken under the wings of Wanda and Agatha. The journey had been one of healing, self-discovery, and strength. Y/n was now 15, her magical abilities sharper, more precise, and far less volatile than when she first arrived. She was no longer the scared girl who flinched at every loud noise, nor was she the experiment Hydra had tried to mold her into. She was powerful, determined, and-most importantly-loved.

However, as much as she had grown, there were still days when the weight of her past dragged her down. Wanda and Agatha had become more than mentors to her, but Y/n still deeply feared that she didn't truly belong. All of this-the home, the training, the care-could be taken away from her at any moment.

It was a cool autumn afternoon, and Y/n sat in the courtyard of the Avengers Compound, practicing a levitation spell. Small rocks floated around her, swirling slowly in a controlled circle. Her eyes were focused, her hands steady, but her mind wandered. The crisp breeze sent shivers through her, though she wasn't entirely sure the weather caused it.

Footsteps crunched on the gravel behind her, and she didn't have to turn around to know who it was.

"Your control is getting better every day," Wanda said softly, walking beside her and watching the stones rotate in the air.

Y/n gave a small smile but didn't respond. She could feel the tension in her chest, an anxious knot growing for days. She was trying to keep it together, but it was getting more complex.

Wanda noticed the shift in her energy. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice full of concern as she crouched next to Y/n. "You've been quiet all week."

Y/n sighed, her focus breaking as the rocks fell to the ground with soft thuds. She clenched her hands into fists, resting them on her knees as she stared at the fallen stones.

"I don't know," Y/n mumbled. "I just feel... off."

Wanda reached out, placing a gentle hand on Y/n's arm. "Talk to me. You know you can tell me anything."

Y/n hesitated, her thoughts swirling with fear and doubt. "... sometimes, I feel like I don't belong here. Like this could all disappear, and I'd be alone again. I'm scared that... one day, you'll both realize I'm too broken. That I'm not worth all the effort."

Wanda's heart broke at Y/n's words. She knew the depth of the trauma Hydra had left behind, but hearing Y/n express such deep-rooted fear hit her hard.

"Y/n," Wanda said softly, turning to face her. "You belong here. You belong with us. Agatha and I... we're not going anywhere. You're not an experiment or a project we're working on. You're family. We love you."

Y/n blinked, her eyes wide as she looked at Wanda. "Family?"

Wanda nodded, her hand still resting on Y/n's arm. "Yes. Family. You're not alone, and you never will be. Not as long as we're here."

Before Y/n could respond, Agatha's voice called out from the compound doorway.

"Hey, are you two done brooding out here?" Agatha joked, though there was a softness in her tone. She walked over, hands in the pockets of her long coat as she approached them. "We've got something important to talk about."

Wanda stood up, offering Y/n a hand. "Come on," she said gently. "There's something we've been meaning to discuss with you."

Y/n's brows furrowed in confusion as she took Wanda's hand and stood. "What's going on?"

"You'll see," Agatha said with a mysterious smile, leading them inside.

Inside the compound, the atmosphere felt different. Y/n could sense nervous energy coming from Wanda and Agatha, but she couldn't figure out why. As they entered the living room, Y/n noticed something out of place. On the coffee table sat a small cake with the number "16" written on top in pink frosting, even though her birthday was still months away.

"Okay, what's going on?" Y/n asked, her confusion growing.

Wanda and Agatha exchanged a glance before Agatha spoke up.

"Y/n, we've been talking a lot about this," Agatha began, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "And we know your birthday isn't for a few more months, but we've been thinking about your future... about what we want for you. And..."

Wanda stepped in, her eyes soft and full of love. "We want to adopt you, Y/n officially."

Y/n's heart stopped.

Adopt? She wasn't sure she had heard them right. She stared at both women, her mind racing, her breath catching in her throat.

"You... want to adopt me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Wanda nodded, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Yes. We love you, Y/n. You've been part of our lives for over a year now, and we can't imagine not having you with us. You are family to us. And we want to make it official-if that's what you want, too."

Y/n's eyes filled with tears as she processed their words. Her whole body trembled as the weight of their offering sank in. She had spent so long feeling unwanted as if her place in the world was uncertain. But now, Wanda and Agatha were offering her a home, a family-a permanent place where she would be loved and cared for.

She didn't know how to respond. She didn't have the words.

Agatha stepped closer, her usual sarcasm gone as she looked at Y/n with genuine affection. "Kid, you don't have to decide right now. We just wanted you to know that we're all in. We're here for the long haul, no matter what."

Y/n felt the dam inside her break, and the tears began to fall.

"I want that," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I want to be your daughter."

Without another word, Wanda pulled Y/n into a tight embrace, holding her close as Y/n sobbed into her shoulder. Agatha joined the hug, wrapping her arms around them as they stood together, a united front.

After what felt like an eternity, Y/n pulled back slightly, wiping her eyes. She looked at the two women who had become her entire world, her heart swelling with love and gratitude.

"I've never had a family before," Y/n said softly, her voice shaky but full of emotion. "I didn't think... I didn't think anyone would ever want me."

Wanda cupped Y/n's face, her thumbs gently brushing away the tears. "We want you, Y/n. We always have."

Agatha nodded in agreement, her expression tender. "And we always will."

Y/n let out a soft laugh, a mixture of joy and disbelief washing over her. "I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything," Wanda whispered, pulling her into another hug. "You're ours, Y/n. And we're yours."

As Y/n stood there, held tightly by the two women who had saved her in every way imaginable, she realized she had found her place. She had found her home. And for the first time, she felt like she truly belonged.

They were her family now. And nothing would ever change that.
