Megan's Pov:

The week after the wedding was disastrous from both ends of the families. Shawn has yet to go back to his family home, and has been staying in his old room at Nana's barely coming out unless it was to use the bathroom. He so quiet that some times no one would know if he was in there or not. The only people who went in were Deon and Baby Jer. That's it. Not even Nana.

She sort of blew a gasket at him thinking that the reason why he looked a mess was because me and him had done something after he supposedly asked them to leave so he can talk to me. I learned that when she was reprimanding him, and me wearing his clothes afterwards didn't help our case. I had to be the one to explain all that happened AFTER we left the house (cause Shawn had to take a hike to calm down).

Though, Shawn said she was forgiven and the apology from her wasn't necessary because he assumed that's what she was going to think anyway. And honestly, she wasn't all that wrong. Nana reads the wrinkles of clothes, and I'm sure she found something on his suit.

Moving on from that, from what I heard Rebecca has yet to show her face to the public, family included. I'm not sure what gave Shawn the idea that Rebecca had a child, nor what led him to that house, but gosh, I didn't expect any of this.

As for his parents, no ones heard anything about them. I'm not sure if he's been in contact with them or not. Ain't no telling if they coming up with new plans or whatever, figuring out what to say, or just hiding. What these parents pulled has been the talk of the town, and this ain't no small town, so it's a damn sure a scandal.

Then there's me, who has yet to talk to him cause I'm not sure what I can say or know how he'll react to seeing me. That door has been unlocked for some days now, anyone can go in. People chose to give him space because he needs it. Deon has told me how he's been here and there, that Shawn was genuinely heartbroken, not just by the betrayal by Rebecca but by the people he tended to please to. The ones who was in his circle the most at the time, smiling behind his back.

I'll never know how far his relationship went with Rebecca or the families, but what I do know is that he was disappointed. The look on his face when he was driving was heart-wrenching, and  had me scared for my life when we kept passed every stop sign, every stoplight just to pull in front of a house a couple of blocks from his.

Deon has been trying to get me to try to talk with him to see if I can make any progress from him. That's if he even would had wanted to see me to begin with. I'm not

Now the moment of truth.

I'm currently standing in front of his door with a hand up ready to knock on it. Having yet to know what to say or do to be good company. I was there from start to finish, because I was the start of it. It's like the most important women in his life were letting his down the most when we should have been holding his head up.

Yeah, he needs someone to put good things into his ear, into his head. I know Shawn. I know that he will think and think until he's stuck in head, creating conclusions that do worst than good. I'm not going to try to be a hero, but I'll be his friend.

My knuckles almost touched the wooden door, but once again I'm swamped with worry.

'What if I'm not the one he wants to see? What if I'm the last person he DOES want to see?'

I was taking steps back from the door to go back to my room when it opened. Immediately, making eye contact with a bare sculpted chest connected to a white man's face oozing irritation.

"Can I help you?" His words came out flat, completely uninterested as he leaned on the door frame. Welp, at least I know he's alive.

"How'd you know I was here?" Feeling like I need to retreat, and leave him alone. Anyone can see that he doesn't want to be bothered. A frown is carved on his face, eyes dull, his body spews 'What the fuck do you want?'
