"Soooo..." I draw out the word I've abused all day trying to start the most basic conversations. My hands rub up and down my thighs as I'm seated trying to rid the bad juju building up. I simply want a distraction strong enough to turn my attention away from the absolute buffoonery before me.

"Oh, I don't know. Um, definitely not the doctor and nurses dancing in the room across the hall while there's a patient bleeding out right next to us, another on his last leg...like actually, and one more a few of seats across that I'm pretty sure flatlined....I mean he hasn't blinked in 10 minutes and flies has flown in and out his mouth. But definitely not that."

Shawn chuckles, wrapping an arm around my shoulders pushing me closer to him away from the red wine fountain. Jesus, I pray that this man get the help he needs. Seriously, how has he not passed out yet?

There must be something sinister or in the category that's on his mind.

"Are you goin to answer my question?" Not that he really needs to. The fact I'm seated outside in this hallway answers the question alone. Not tryna act spoiled or nothing, just that when I'm with golden boy I know where I'M NOT SUPPOSED to be.

"I'll explain everything once we're situated to the room." Shawn say gently, rubbing his hand on my upper arm, making me realize just how cold it is in this hospital. It's been nothing but chaos since we arrived here, and a reminder why I don't like hospitals. Man, it's just depressing.

"Your dad hasn't waken up yet, right?" I ask, knowing the

"No, not yet. I mostly come to just get updates, see how he's healing." I don't... believe that, nor him. So maybe I'll get a real answer in a more private space than this. All we're doing right now is waiting for the nurse to get us. Preston Sr. was getting a quick sponge bath and clean up. "Why? The doctors aren't entertaining you enough?"
