As Sari and Miyuki step out of the car, the warm Philippine sun greets them, casting a golden hue over the bustling neighborhood. The vibrant sounds of laughter and distant music fill the air. Sari's parents rush out to welcome them, their faces lighting up with joy.
“Miyuki! Look at you!” Sari’s mother exclaims, kneeling to embrace her granddaughter. Miyuki giggles, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Sari’s father steps forward, wrapping Sari in a tight hug. “Welcome home! Sobrang na miss ko kayo!”
As they make their way inside, the house is filled with the delicious aroma of traditional dishes wafting from the kitchen.
“pinag handa kita nga mga paborito mo” Sari’s mom announces, guiding them to the dining table adorned with a feast.
Miyuki’s eyes widen at the colorful spread. “Wow, it looks amazing!”
Sari smiles, feeling a wave of nostalgia. “I remember all the family gatherings here.”
After they settle down, Sari’s parents shower Miyuki with stories from their childhood and traditions. The warmth of the home envelops them, easing Sari's earlier anxieties.
Miyuki listens intently, her laughter mingling with her grandparents' voices, creating a joyful symphony. Sari watches, her heart swelling with love, grateful for this moment of connection and belonging.

Sari steps into Mira’s cozy home, the familiar scent of baking filling the air. As she walks into the living room, she spots Mira bustling around, her twin daughters playing nearby. Sari calls out, “Mira!”
Mira turns, and her eyes widen in disbelief. “Sari!” She rushes forward, her voice trembling with emotion. “bakla ka. Akala ko hindi Kana talaga uuwi ng pinas”
Mira’s eyes glisten with tears as she envelops Sari in a tight hug. “I thought I’d have to wait until the wedding to see you!”
“Syempre hindi ko na papalagpasin to,” Sari replies, squeezing her friend tightly. The warmth of their friendship floods back, and for a moment, everything feels right.
Just then, Scarlet bursts through the door, a cheerful smile on her face. “Mira! I brought the invitations for my wedding—” She stops short, noticing Sari standing there. “Oh! Sari, andito ka!”
Mira wipes away a tear and laughs. “kita mo na nag tatanong kapa”
Scarlet grins, her eyes darting between her friends. “akala ko talaga hindi ka aattend eh, patong patong na utang niyo ni Tacia samin.”
Mira takes a deep breath, still overwhelmed. “totoo, pero sobrang saya namin na umuwi ka Sari”
As the three friends settle into the cozy living room, Scarlet hands Mira a beautifully crafted invitation, her excitement bubbling over. “Hindi nako mapakapag hintay, sa kasal ko. Finally ma kukumpleto na tayo.”
Mira beams, flipping the invitation to admire the design. “pink na pink ang theme ah, sobrang ganda.”
Scarlet then turns her attention to Sari, her brow furrowing slightly. “Speaking of surprises, where’s Tacia? I thought she’d come with you.”
Sari glances at Mira, a hint of concern in her eyes. “She’s coming tomorrow,” she replies. “She just needed a little more time to get ready and deal with everything.”
Scarlet nods, her expression softening. “ah. It must be a lot for her, especially with Mica being around.”
“oo nga eh,” Sari agrees, her tone empathetic. “ Pahirapan ko talagang pinilit yun. But she’ll be here soon. I know she wants to be with us.”
Mira chimes in, “We’ll make sure to give her a warm welcome. I can’t wait to see her!”
Scarlet smiles, already imagining the reunion. “Lahat tayo mag papakalasing. Tacia deserves to enjoy this time, especially with everything she’s been through.”
Sari feels a wave of reassurance at her friends’ support. “ikaw lang huwag mo kaming idamay.”
As they chat, the anticipation builds for Tacia’s arrival, the bonds of friendship promising to make the trip unforgettable.
