Tacia gathered Scarlet, Mira, Cole, and Jo together, her expression somber. She knew this conversation would break their hearts, but they needed to understand what Sari was facing.

When she finally told them about Miyuki’s diagnosis, a heavy silence fell over the group. It was as if time had stopped, the words hanging in the air.

Mira’s hand flew to her mouth, her eyes immediately welling up. She looked away, trying to hold back the tears that blurred her vision, but they quickly spilled over, her heart aching for Sari and her daughter.

Scarlet, normally so composed, felt her throat tighten painfully as her own tears traced silent paths down her cheeks. She couldn’t imagine the pain Sari must be enduring, and the thought alone was overwhelming.

Cole and Jo exchanged a stunned glance, both struggling to process the gravity of the situation.

Jo’s gaze dropped to the floor, her shoulders heavy with sorrow, while Cole’s jaw tightened as she took in the news, feeling the weight of helplessness pressing on her.

Tacia’s voice was soft as she continued, her own emotions barely held in check. “Sari… she’s devastated. She’s trying so hard to stay strong, naawa ako sa kaibigan natin.”

Mira sniffled, wiping her tears, determination mingling with the sadness in her eyes.

“ngayon tayo kailangan ni Sari,” she whispered, her voice shaking but resolute. Scarlet nodded, still wiping her cheeks, her heart set on supporting their friend however she could.

The group sat in silence, letting their emotions settle.

After a moment of silence, Cole spoke up, her tone cautious yet hopeful. "Maybe… maybe we should tell Gio now. Na andito na si Sari, may karapatan din naman siya na malaman eh. Anak niya na yung usapan dito oh."

Mira shook her head, her expression thoughtful yet firm. "Mabuti siguro, kung hindi muna tayo maki alam."

Scarlet nodded in agreement, her tear-streaked face softening as she looked at Cole. "May tamang panahon para sa kanila. Siguro hayaan nalang natin na ang tadhana na mismo ang mag tagpo sa kanila."

Cole looked down, considering their words, and slowly nodded, understanding the wisdom in waiting. "Kayo bahala, pero sana huwag natin paabutin, na pati satin mag tanim ng sama ng loob si Sari dahil sa pag tago ng katotohanan sa kaniya" she murmured, looking at her friends

The day had finally arrived for Miyuki's treatment, and the air in Sari's home was thick with anxiety.

Sari had tried to maintain a brave face for her daughter, but inside, she felt a whirlwind of emotions fear, uncertainty, and a flicker of hope.

As they drove to the hospital, Miyuki sat in the back seat, her small hands gripping her stuffed animal tightly. “Mom, is it going to hurt?” she asked, her voice small and timid. Sari glanced in the rearview mirror, her heart aching at the innocence in Miyuki’s eyes.

“No, sweetheart,” Sari replied, trying to sound as reassuring as possible. “The doctors are going to help you feel better. You’re so strong, and we’re all here for you.” She caught a glimpse of her own reflection and saw the worry etched on her face, but she pushed it aside for Miyuki’s sake.

When they arrived at the hospital, the sterile smell hit them, a stark reminder of the journey they were about to undertake.

Sari took Miyuki’s hand as they walked through the corridors, her mother following closely behind for support.

As they entered the treatment room, Sari’s heart raced. The room was bright, filled with medical equipment and the sound of soft beeping machines.

A nurse greeted them with a warm smile, introducing herself and explaining the procedure in gentle tones.

“Hi, Miyuki! You’re going to be a superstar today. We’ll be here with you every step of the way,” the nurse said, kneeling to Miyuki’s eye level. Sari watched as Miyuki’s apprehension began to fade, replaced by a flicker of curiosity.

But as they prepared for the treatment, Sari’s heart tightened again. She took a deep breath, willing herself to be strong. She leaned down to Miyuki, brushing a stray hair behind her ear. “I’m right here, baby. I won’t leave your side.”

Miyuki nodded, a brave smile breaking through the fear. “I can do this, Mom,” she said softly. “I’m not scared.”

As the treatment began, Sari held Miyuki’s hand tightly, her fingers intertwined, feeling the warmth of her little girl’s grip. Each moment felt like an eternity, but Sari focused on Miyuki’s bravery, drawing strength from her daughter.

The nurse kept talking, keeping Miyuki engaged, explaining each step as they went along. Sari remained close, whispering words of encouragement and love, determined to stay present and strong for Miyuki.

In that moment, surrounded by the bright lights of the hospital, Sari felt a mix of fear and hope.

She knew the road ahead would be long and difficult, but as she looked into Miyuki’s eyes filled with courage she realized they would face it together, every step of the way.
