Sari sat quietly in the dimly lit church, hands clasped tightly as she whispered a prayer, her heart heavy with worries.

She sought comfort and guidance, hoping for strength amidst the struggles she’d been facing. The stillness around her offered a sense of peace, and she took a deep breath, feeling a little lighter.

As she rose to leave, her eyes fell on a familiar figure across the aisle. Her heart stopped, a mix of emotions flooding over her.

It was Gio. The very sight of her stirred up memories, reopening wounds Sari thought she had healed. She wanted to approach her, to ask the questions she had carried for so long, but as she moved forward, the crowd grew around them.

Sari tried to follow, calling out, but Gio was quickly swallowed up by the sea of people.

She stood there, heart racing, feeling the sharp ache of unfinished words and unanswered questions, as Gio disappeared into the crowd, leaving Sari alone with her thoughts once again.

                      ---------------

The atmosphere in the small gathering room buzzed with excitement as Mira, Scarlet, Cole, Tacia, and Jo sat around a table, finalizing details for the upcoming wedding. Laughter and chatter filled the air until Mira’s expression turned serious.

“Okay, everyone, we need to talk,” Mira said, drawing the attention of the group. “May problema tayo.”

Tacia’s brow furrowed. “What’s going on?”

Mira hesitated, glancing at Scarlet before continuing. “a-attend din ng wedding si Gio.”

Tacia’s eyes widened in alarm. “What? Are you serious?bakit ngayon mo lang sinabi!”

Cole raised an eyebrow, trying to gauge the situation. “eh ano naman, kung aattend si Gio? edi mabuti nga at magkikita na sila ni Sari, right?”

“No, hindi niyo kasi naiintindihan,” Scarlet replied, her voice urgent. “pag nagkita sila sa mismong event. Ano nalang ang sasabihin samin ni Sari? na alam na pala namin na andito lang si Gio?, baka hindi niya agad maintindihan kong mag paliwanag kami. If they see each other… it could get messy.”

Jo leaned in, looking concerned. “Do we know if Sari knows Gio will be there?”

“hindi pa, alam niyo naman kung anong nangyari sa kanila dati diba, biglang hindi nag paramdam si Gio kay Sari” Mira said, shaking her head. “I wanted to warn you all before it becomes a bigger issue. I just don’t want things to blow up on the big day. Okay lang magkita ulit sila, pero hindi pwde sa kasal mismo”

Tacia crossed her arms, deep in thought. “Maybe we can come up with a plan. If Sari doesn’t know, we can try to keep them apart.”

The conversation around the table shifted as Cole casually mentioned,
“Pero diba may anak na si Sari? at si Travis ang ama, so bakit pa natin itatago yun?”

Mira looked taken aback. “What? pinag sasabi mo?”

Cole shrugged, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. “nakita ko sila sa mall kahapon with a little girl. They looked like a family.”

Scarlet’s expression darkened. “Hindi anak ni Travis yun. Anak yun ni Gio kay Sari.”

Jo and Cole exchanged shocked glances, processing the revelation. “Wait, what, totoo ba?” Cole exclaimed.

Jo leaned in, her curiosity piqued. “How do you know it’s Gio’s?”

Scarlet took a deep breath. “Bago umalis ng Pinas si Sari. Binilin niya samin ni Mira  na huwag sabihin sa inyo  na  buntis siya. Kami lang ang naka alam nun pati family niya. Pero tinago din ni Sari sa family ni Gio for her peace.”

Tacia nodded, adding, “She didn’t tell anyone because she was scared of how people would react. At isa pa kaibigan kayo ni Gio so alam niyang baka sabihin niyo sa kanya.”

Jo frowned. “So, Sari’s been raising Gio’s daughter alone all this time?”

“Oo,” Mira said, concern etched on her face. “Sari wanted to protect both herself and the child from any fallout. Saksi kami sa naranasan niyang lungkot noon, kaya gano'n nlang ang takot namin na kung magkita sila sa mismong event baka magalit si Sari samin.”

Cole shook her head in disbelief. “This changes everything. If Sari and Gio meet at the wedding… it could get really complicated.”

Scarlet nodded gravely. “That’s why we need to figure out how to handle this. The last thing we want is for Sari to be blindsided or for Gio to show up unprepared.”

As the reality of the situation settled in, the group exchanged worried glances, aware that the wedding was shaping up to be more than just a celebration it was a potential flashpoint for unresolved emotions and hidden truths.
