                    (FLASHBACK)

In the soft, hazy light of early morning, Gio stood at the airport terminal, her suitcase beside her and her gaze distant as she prepared to leave everything behind.

She had spent days convincing herself that this was the only way forward, that it was time to finally move on. The revelation that Sari had moved on and even had a family now had broken what little resolve Gio had left. It felt like there was nothing left for her here.

But just as she was about to step forward to check in, she heard a voice calling her name.

“Gio! Wait!”

Turning, Gio saw Cole, Mica, and Jo hurrying through the terminal, their faces full of urgency.

Her brows furrowed in confusion, surprised to see her friends rushing toward her. She hadn't told them about her flight, hoping to leave without any more farewells.

“Guys, what are you doing here?” Gio asked, trying to keep her tone steady. “Ah nga pala… hindi ako nakapag paalam sa inyo.”

Cole stepped forward, slightly out of breath, and grabbed Gio’s shoulder firmly. “Hindi ka namin hahayaang umalis ng ganto. Gio, may kailangan kang malaman. Something important about Sari.”

Gio’s face twisted with pain as she tried to pull away. “There’s nothing left to say. May sarili na siyang pamilya. Nilinaw niya na sa'kin… ano pang dapat malaman ko?”

Mica shook her head, her expression gentle but serious. “Gio, you don’t have the whole story. Sari told you about her daughter, Miyuki… but you don’t know the truth about her.”

Gio froze, confusion clouding her face. “What do you mean? Sari told me she has a family. She… she moved on, and I have to respect that.”

Jo stepped in, her voice calm but insistent. “Hindi anak ni Travis si Yuki, anak mo siya Gio.”

The words hit Gio like a shockwave. She stared at her friends, disbelief and confusion swirling in her eyes. “What… What are you talking about? Sari never told me… I… How?”

Mica took a deep breath, her hand tightening on Gio’s shoulder. “Remember the IVF treatment Sari did before you went to Thailand? It was positive, Gio. Six years ago, Sari found out she was pregnant with your child. Miyuki is the daughter you both dreamed of having together.”

Gio’s face went pale as the weight of the revelation sank in. Her heart pounded wildly, and she felt as if the world had suddenly tilted beneath her feet.

“But… why didn’t she tell me?” she whispered, her voice breaking. “Why did she let me believe she had a family with someone else?”

Mica’s expression softened with understanding. “Siguro dahil sa nasasaktan parin siya hanggang ngayon. Ginamit niya si Travis para palabasing naka move on na siya sayo. But she never moved on not really. She’s been holding onto you, even if she tried to hide it. And Miyuki… Miyuki is the proof of the love you both shared.”

Gio’s legs felt weak, and she sank onto the bench beside her, her hands covering her face as she tried to process everything.

The overwhelming emotions love, regret, and a fierce desire to go back and make things right swirled inside her.

“So, all this time,” she whispered, her voice shaking, “I had a daughter. I had a family… and I almost left it behind.” She looked up, eyes red with tears as she turned to her friends. “I have to go to her. I have to see her, to explain everything.”

Cole smiled softly, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Then go, Gio. Sari deserves to know that you’re still here for her… and for Miyuki. It’s not too late. Sorry kung ngayon lang din namin sinabi sayo, sana maintindihan mo kami Gio”

Without another word, Gio grabbed her bag, leaving her ticket behind, and hurried out of the airport.

            (END OF FLASHBACK)

As the night settled quietly around them, Sari and Gio sat together on the couch, the weight of their recent reunion filling the air with a tender tension.

Sari's eyes, still glistening from earlier tears, studied Gio's face, searching for answers. She took a deep breath, steadying herself as she spoke.

“Gio… Pano mo nalaman na anak mo si yuki?” Sari whispered, her voice soft but wavering. “Nag usap kami ni ate Gab kanina. Pinaliwanag niya ang lahat sa'kin, nung sinabi niyang paalis ka, hinabol agad kita. Pero bakit hindi ka natuloy?”

Gio’s gaze softened as she looked down, gathering her thoughts. She took Sari’s hand, squeezing it gently as if to reassure her.

“Paalis na sana talaga ako, i think 5 minutes bago yung flight ko” she began, her voice low and steady. “Alam mo bang nag dadalawang isip ako kung susukuan na ba talaga kita. After kong malaman na may anak kayo ni Travis.”

Gio took a shaky breath, her eyes clouding with the memory. “Nung biglang dumating sila Cole para pigilan ako. They told me the truth about Miyuki, that she’s our daughter. That the IVF we had dreamed about… it worked.” She paused, her voice breaking slightly. “I had no idea, Sari. I spent all this time thinking you’d moved on with someone else.”

Sari squeezed her hand gently, her own voice trembling. “Gio… Aminin ko man nasaktan ako. Pero kahit gusto kong gawin na kalimutan ka at iwan yung mga ala ala na meron tayo dati. Gio, hindi ko magawa. Ilang beses na akong nag sinungaling sa sarili ko na kakalimutan na kita, pero yun yung bagay na hindi ko kayang gawin.”

Gio’s gaze softened as she listened, her fingers brushing a stray tear from Sari’s cheek. “But I never wanted to move on without you. Sari nangako ako sayo, at yung pangakong  'yun tutuparin ko.”

They sat together in silence for a moment, their hands clasped tightly as the gravity of everything they’d missed settled over them. Finally, Gio spoke again, her tone filled with quiet determination.

“Mag sisimula ulit tayo, pupunan ko yung mga araw, taon at celebration na hindi natin nagawa together” she said. “Pero bakit.... bakit kailangang mag kasakit ni Miyuki, gusto ko pang bumawi sa kaniya.”

Sari looked down, her lips quivering as she held back more tears. “Gio… kahit ako ilang beses kong tinanong sa sarili ko. Masiyahan at sobrang lambing ni Miyuki, hindi niya deserve maranasan ang ganung pag hihirap.”

Gio nodded, her hand moving to cup Sari’s cheek. “Then let’s give her that. Let’s give her the family she deserves. I don’t want to miss another day.”

The two sat there, their hands intertwined and their hearts finally finding the peace they had longed for. It was a beginning of healing, of forgiveness, and of the family they had dreamed of for so long.
