                (5 YEAR'S LATER)

Five years had passed since that difficult time, and now Gio and Sari had created a life filled with love and resilience.

Their home was warm and vibrant, the walls adorned with memories their wedding photos, pictures of Sari glowing during her pregnancy, snapshots from the christening of their triplets, and a special solo picture of their beloved Miyuki, forever cherished.

It was early morning, and Sari was still peacefully asleep, her face softened by the morning light. Gio leaned over, smiling as she took in the sight of her wife.

She pressed gentle kisses on Sari’s cheek and forehead, her lips lingering with love. Sari began to stir, her eyes fluttering open as Gio whispered softly, "Good morning, my love. Tumayo kana diyan"

Sari smiled sleepily, reaching out to pull Gio closer. “Mmm, ang aga pa bebe, 10 minutes  more ,” she murmured, her voice thick with drowsiness.

But then, just as she started to close her eyes again, Gio gently reminded her, “baka nakakalimutan mo, bebe, we’re going to the cemetery today… to visit Miyuki. Birthday niya ngayon”

Sari’s eyes opened, a flicker of sadness and remembrance crossing her face. She nodded, the weight of the day returning to her as Gio held her close. “ hala. I almost forgot,” she whispered, emotion tugging at her heart.

Gio held her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. “She’ll always be with us, bebe. And today, we get to bring the triplets to visit their big sister. We’ll make it a special day, together.”

Sari looked around the room, her gaze falling on the photos on the wall their wedding, the journey of motherhood, their growing family, and Miyuki’s beautiful solo portrait.

These pictures told the story of their life, the love and loss that had shaped them, and the future they were building together. She felt a sense of peace wash over her, knowing they were honoring every part of their family.

At the cemetery, the air was crisp and calm, a gentle breeze rustling through the leaves of the trees surrounding them. Sari and Gio walked hand in hand, their three-year-old triplets, Greighly Hope, Griella Praise and Grayszhan Heaven.

Holding onto their parents’ other hands, skipping alongside them with innocent laughter, blissfully unaware of the weight of the day.

As they approached Miyuki’s resting place, Sari’s heart felt heavy with a mix of emotions love, sadness, and the bittersweet ache of remembrance.

The stone was adorned with fresh flowers they had brought, vibrant blooms that contrasted with the muted colors of the surroundings.

Gio gently knelt down, placing the flowers at the base of the gravestone while the triplets curiously looked around, their giggles softening the somber atmosphere.

Sari took a deep breath, her gaze lingering on Miyuki’s name engraved in the stone. “Happy 12th Birthday Miyuki,” she began, her voice trembling slightly. “It’s been five years since you left us, but it feels like just yesterday.” Tears welled in her eyes as she continued, “We miss you every single day.”

Gio stood beside Sari, wrapping an arm around her waist for support. “You would be so proud of your sisters,” she said softly, glancing at the triplets playing nearby. “They talk about you all the time, and they know they have a big sister watching over them.”

“Miyuki,” Sari said, her voice filled with warmth, “I hope you can feel the love we send to you. Alam mo ba lagi namin kinukwento sa mga kapatid mo kung gaano ka katapang, kung gaano mo binigyan ng kulay ang buhay namin.”

She paused, a bittersweet smile crossing her lips. “They would have loved to play with you, to know you in person. You would have been the best big sister.”

As the wind picked up, Sari felt a gentle caress against her skin, almost as if Miyuki was there with them, wrapping them in her love. Gio squeezed Sari’s hand, her heart aching for the loss yet swelling with pride for the family they had built together.

“Lagi kang nasa puso namin anak,” Gio added, her voice steady but soft, sharing the grief that had lingered but was softened by time. “And we promise to keep your memory alive in our family. You’re part of everything we do, every laugh, every tear, every moment.”

The triplets paused their play and approached, their innocent faces filled with curiosity. Greighly looked up at her parents, her little brow furrowed. “Is our ate sleeping?” she asked, her voice sweet and innocent.

“Yes, anak,” Sari replied, kneeling down to meet Greighly’s gaze. “She’s sleeping, but she can still hear us. We can talk to her whenever we want.”

“Can we say hi?” Griella chimed in, her bright eyes wide with hope.

“Of course,” Gio smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her heart. “Batiin niyo ang ate niyo. It's her birthday to day”

“Happy birthday ate Miyuki!” they said

The family gathered around the gravestone, the triplets holding hands as they faced the stone. Sari encouraged them, “Why don’t you each say something you want her to know?”

One by one, the triplets spoke, their voices ringing with innocence and love. “I love you, Ate!” Grayszhan shouted, her small hands raised in excitement.

“I wish we could play together!” Greighly added, her voice filled with sincerity. “Sana maging kasing brave kita!” Griella said, her eyes shining.

As the little ones shared their messages, Sari felt a wave of love wash over her. In that moment, she realized that Miyuki would always be a part of their family, woven into the fabric of their lives.

The grief was still present, but it was intertwined with love, hope, and the promise of cherished memories.

As they finished, Gio pulled Sari close, and together they watched their children, feeling Miyuki’s presence around them. “We’re not just grieving her loss,” Gio whispered, “We’re celebrating her life and how she’s shaped our family.”

Sari nodded, her heart swelling with a bittersweet sense of peace. “Always, my love. Always.”
