After Jo and Scarlet’s wedding, Mira had hoped for some quiet time with Cole, a chance to reconnect and enjoy the intimacy of newlywed life, even if it was by extension.
But when she called Cole that evening and found out she was at Xylo with Mica, Jo, and Gio, Mira felt a sting of frustration.
When she asked, "Ano Madam Cole! wala ka pa bang balak umuwi?" Mira’s tone was a bit sharper than intended, the disappointment clear.
Cole, caught off guard, tried to keep things light, responding,
"Sandali nalang uyab. Dinadamayan pa namin si Mica, tsaka nag paalam naman ako sayo ng maayos ah." She hadn’t expected Mira to be upset.
But Mira’s disappointment only deepened. "Sabihin mo sa akin kung ihahatid ko na itong mga damit mo diyan. Pag hindi kapa umuwi ngayon, ikaw talaga sunod na dadamayan nila!”
Cole fell silent, realizing Mira’s frustration went deeper than just the night out. “Mahal naman minsan lang to eh,” she said after a pause
A silence lingered as both of them processed the conversation. They ended the call on a slightly strained note, both feeling the distance between them.
When Cole returned home later that night, she found Mira in bed, reading. The light was dim, and Mira’s focus on her book seemed forced.
Taking a deep breath, Cole slid into bed beside her, reaching for Mira’s hand. Mira’s fingers were initially stiff, but she allowed Cole to hold her hand, her eyes still on the page.
Mira finally looked over, a hint of vulnerability in her eyes. “Aba! Kezheia Coleen. edi sana doon nalang kayo tumira sa Xylo pag buhol buhulin ko kayong apat. Lalakas ng tama niyo, ikaw pamilyado Kana yung mga anak mo kanina kapa hinihintay naka tulog nalang yung mga bata wala kapa!”
“Minsang kasiyahan lang naman eh, then birthday din ni Mics. Kaya sinabay na namin ang pag damay sa kanya, tsaka celebration ng birthday niya”
As Cole stood there, Mira’s gaze sharpened, and her tone dropped, heavy with disappointment.
"Ako Cole, huwag mo ngang pinag loloko!" Mira said, crossing her arms. Cole hesitated, realizing she’d been caught.
But Mira's frustration only grew. "Alam ko kung kailan birthday ni Mica, humahanap ka nalang ng palusot yung alam ko pa"
Cole looked down, feeling the weight of Mira’s words. "Ah joke lang yun mahal, dinamayan lang talaga namin ni Mics. Broken eh."
Mira softened slightly but remained firm. "Kailangan paba talaga sa Xylo kayo mag damayan? Ang lawak lawak ng bahay ni Mics bakit hindi kayo dun,? mas gusto niyo pang I display mga mukha niyo doon sa karamihan"
Cole reached out, brushing her fingers against Mira's arm. "Hindi naman sa ganun mahal. sadyang masaya lang talaga sa lugar nayun. Sorry na. Mag sosorry parin ako kahit wala naman akong kasalan."
Mira looked at Cole. "Paalam mo sa'kin mamasyal lang kayo diba?, anong walang kasalanan. Umalis ka nga diyan, baka masampaga pa kita."
Cole nodded, determination in her eyes. "Alam mo uyab. Kahit ang sungit sungit mo. Mahal na mahal parin kita, kayo ng dalawang anak natin"

The club was filled with loud music and flashing lights, and amidst the chaos, Mica and Jo were barely able to stand. They clung to each other, laughing uncontrollably as they swayed from side to side, clearly way past their limit.
“Mica! Jo!” Gio shouted over the music, trying to get their attention.
Mica turned to her with a goofy grin, struggling to focus. “Giooooo! halika na... party party....!” she slurred, throwing her arms around her friend in a sloppy hug.
Jo chimed in, her voice loud and unsteady, “Let’s… let’s get pizza, Gio! Right now!” She stumbled, almost pulling Mica down with her. Gio sighed, supporting them both as best as she could, realizing they weren’t getting pizza anytime soon.
“Tumahimik na kayo, tama na yan. Ihahatid ko na kayo sa mga bahay niyo,” Gio said firmly, though her words were met with groans of protest.
“Home? Ayoko pa umuwi maaga pa!” Mica whined, waving her arms dramatically. Jo started giggling uncontrollably, finding Mica’s protest hilarious.
But Gio wasn’t having any of it. She wrapped her arms around their waists, practically dragging them out of the club, dodging other party-goers as they stumbled toward the exit.
Once outside, the fresh air hit them, but it did nothing to sober them up. Mica started singing an off-key tune at the top of her lungs while Jo leaned against Gio, trying to keep her balance.
“Gio, you’re… you’re like, the best sister ever, mahal na mahal kita tandaan mo yan” Jo slurred, hugging her tightly.
“tumahimik ka, lasing kalang,” Gio muttered, struggling to keep them upright as she led them to the car.
After a few minutes of wrestling them into the back seat, Gio finally got them buckled in, ignoring their continued protests and giggles.
On the way to their house, Mica and Jo’s energy didn’t die down. They kept poking each other and laughing, recounting nonsensical stories. Gio tried to tune them out, focusing on getting them home safely, though she couldn’t help but chuckle at their antics.
Finally, they arrived, and Gio practically carried Mica up the steps to the door. Mica turned to her, wide-eyed, and whispered dramatically, “Gio… hindi ako lasing diba?.”
Gio rolled her eyes but smiled. "Oo hindi. Naka inom lang.”
When Gio finally got Jo to her house, she was bracing herself for Scarlet’s reaction. Jo, still giggling and stumbling, barely noticed the tense atmosphere as they made their way to the front door.
Scarlet was waiting, her arms crossed and an annoyed expression on her face, tapping her foot impatiently as she watched them approach.
As soon as they reached the doorway, Scarlet’s frustration was clear. "Aba, Jo?" she said, exasperated. "hindi mo naman sinabi na uuwi kang naka gapang. Edi sana hinatid ko nalang lahat ng gamit mo doon!"
Jo looked up, blinking blearily at Scarlet. "Babe! Mas lalo kang gumaganda pag galit ka," she slurred, reaching out to hug her. But Scarlet stepped back, her irritation only growing.
“Gio, thank you for bringing her back, pero sana pina bayaan mo nalang to'ng bwisit na'to,” Scarlet said, trying to keep her tone even but struggling.
Gio sighed, scratching the back of her neck. “naku hindi pwde, mga sugapa kasi sa alak.”
Scarlet glanced over Jo’s disheveled state, “pano pare parehong mayayabang sa inuman. Hindi naman pala kaya”
Jo was too far gone to take the scolding seriously. She reached out, pulling Scarlet. “babe, I love you,” she mumbled, her head drooping on Scarlet’s shoulder.
Scarlet softened, but only slightly. “Pasalamat ka at mahal din kita,” she murmured, guiding Jo toward the couch.
Gio stood by, watching the two of them with a sympathetic smile. “pano ikaw na bahala sa kaibigan ko,”
Scarlet managed a small, tired smile in return. “Thanks, Gio.”
With a final glance at Jo, who was now nodding off on Scarlet’s shoulder.
