Sari stood in the bustling airport, her heart pounding as she scanned the crowd, desperation clawing at her insides.
The announcement for Gio’s flight echoed around her, drowning out her frantic thoughts. “No, no, no,” she muttered, feeling the weight of hopelessness settle heavily on her shoulders.
Panic surged through her, and she turned to rush toward the boarding gate, but the crowd felt suffocating.
She fought through the sea of people, her heart sinking further with each passing moment. As she reached the gate, she saw the line of passengers disappearing down the jet bridge, and her heart shattered.
“Gio!” she cried, her voice cracking. But it was too late. She was gone. Sari stumbled back, her vision blurring with tears. She turned away from the gate, feeling as if the ground beneath her feet was giving way.
“bumalik ka plss” she whispered to herself, the pain of the moment crashing over her like a wave.
As she made her way back to the parking lot, she felt a familiar sense of defeat wash over her. The memories of their time together flooded her mind, each one a reminder of what she had lost.
Sari decided to go to Gio’s condo, hoping to find some sense of closure. As she drove, her tears flowed freely, blurring her vision and her thoughts.
Memories of laughter, love, and dreams danced in her mind, intertwined with the stark reality of their separation. She pulled into the parking lot, her heart heavy as she made her way to the familiar building.
Entering the condo, the silence enveloped her, amplifying her sense of loss. The space felt empty, yet it was filled with echoes of their shared moments.
Sari walked through the living room, her heart aching as she recalled the nights spent talking and dreaming, the mornings spent tangled in each other’s arms.
She stepped into the bedroom, the scent of Gio still lingering in the air, and it was almost too much to bear. Sari sank onto the bed, her shoulders shaking with sobs as she buried her face in the pillows.
“Ang daya mo naman, bakit mo'ko nagawang iwan ulit?” she cried, her voice muffled. “I waited for you. Akala ko ba hihintayin mo din ako. I thought you loved me.”
As the tears poured from her eyes, Sari felt utterly alone, her heart heavy with longing.
“Akala ko ma bubuo na ang pamilya natin ?” she whispered into the stillness, feeling the weight of despair pressing down on her.
In that moment of vulnerability, she poured her heart out to the empty room, the echoes of her pain resonating against the walls.
“Gio, kailangan ka ng anak mo. Kailangan ka namin” she said brokenly. “kailangan ka ngayon ni Miyuki.”
Suddenly, she heard a sound a familiar voice that sent a shiver down her spine. “So tama nga? na anak ko si Miyuki?”
Sari froze, her heart racing. She turned around, tears streaming down her face, and there stood Gio, her eyes wide with disbelief and concern. “Sari, sagutin mo'ko.”
“Oo....oo Gio” Sari gasped, unable to believe her eyes. The sight of her brought an avalanche of emotions crashing over her relief, confusion, love, and despair all at once. “I'm sorry Gio. Sorry kung nag sinungaling ako.”
Gio stepped forward, her expression filled with urgency. “Hindi na yun mahalaga. Atleast… alam ko na ang totoo.”
Tears spilled down Sari’s cheeks as she took a step closer, their eyes locking. “I thought I was too late, akala ko iiwan mo ulit kami” she choked out, overwhelmed by the weight of her emotions.
“Hindi Sari, hindi ko kaya” Gio said, reaching out to cup Sari’s face in her hands, their foreheads almost touching. “Ang tagal mong nawala sa'kin ayoko nang maulit ulit yun.”
Sari felt her heart soar and break all at once. “Bakit hindi mo agad sinabi sa'kin? alam ko na ang lahat Gio. I'm so sorry, sorry kung halos ma isumpa na kita sa galit na naramdaman ko noon.”
“Sari. Hindi mo kailangang mag sorry. Aksidente ang nangyari, naiintindihan ko kung bakit ka nag tanim ng galit sa akin,” Gio admitted, her voice thick with emotion. “Sari andito na'ko babawi ako sayo, babawi ako sa anak natin”
“Huwag mo na kaming iwan ulit,” Sari pleaded, her voice trembling as she took Gio’s hands in hers, holding on as if she would shatter without her. “Hindi ko na kakayanin.”
Gio nodded, her own tears falling as she pulled Sari into a tight embrace. “I won’t. I promise. We’ll face everything together, no more running. I love you, Sari.”
As they stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, the weight of their past began to lift.
The pain of their lost years was still there, but it was overshadowed by the warmth of their love the love that had endured through the darkness.
In that moment, they knew they had a chance to rebuild what had been broken, to create a future that was truly theirs.
