After 3 months of staying at the hospital, a quiet yet festive air filled the room as everyone gathered around Miyuki, who was celebrating her 7th birthday.

Though she looked frail, her eyes sparkled with joy, taking in the warmth of those who loved her dearly.

Miyuki’s tita ninangs brought gifts wrapped in bright colors, their smiles hopeful. Scarlet and Jo stood close, hand in hand, radiating a supportive presence.

Mira and Cole arrived with their young twins, Zheya and Zhandria, who quickly occupied themselves by showing Miyuki the little drawings they made just for her. The twins’ laughter filled the room with a special brightness that softened the moment's heaviness.

Tacia and Mica brought along a soft, handmade blanket adorned with Miyuki’s favorite colors. “It’s so you’ll stay warm and cozy,” Tacia said, placing it gently over her little goddaughter.

Mica handed her a tiny toy that made Miyuki giggle a familiar, heartwarming sound everyone had missed.

Zach and Kiera, who had come all the way from Sydney, embraced Sari tightly before leaning down to whisper birthday wishes to Miyuki, their love evident as they looked at her with encouragement.

Sari’s parents stood by her side, their eyes misty yet filled with pride and love for their granddaughter. They exchanged glances, holding hands as they watched Miyuki cherish each gift, each moment of the day.

Gab, with her son Calix in tow, smiled at Miyuki. Calix had shyly given Miyuki a drawing of her favorite cartoon character, which made her laugh softly.

Gab’s husband, Cyrus, who was also Miyuki’s doctor, stayed close, keeping a watchful eye on her condition while sharing this precious time. His presence was both a comfort and a reminder of the journey Miyuki had endured.

As everyone softly sang "Happy Birthday" to Miyuki, a bittersweet smile lit up her face, her small hands clinging tightly to her mother Sari’s. Gio stood beside them.

Holding back tears, trying to be strong for both of them. The candles on Miyuki's cake flickered in the soft light of the hospital room, casting warm glows on the faces around her, each filled with sorrow and love.

After the song, Miyuki looked up at her moms with tear filled eyes and, with a voice softened by the months of struggle, whispered her last message.

"Mom, Mama... and everyone," she began, pausing to gather strength. "I don’t want to go. I don’t want to die… but don’t be worried. I’m just going to sleep, that’s all."

Miyuki looked up at Gio,  with a mix of innocence and wisdom that broke Gio’s heart. With tears streaming down her cheeks, she whispered,

“Mama… please, don’t ever hurt Mommy’s heart again. She loves you so much.”

Gio’s chest tightened as her tears fell, her lips trembling as she nodded, promising silently, desperately, that she would never let Sari down.

She gently brushed Miyuki’s hair back, her fingers shaking, holding her precious daughter with all the love and regret she could carry.

Miyuki then turned back to Sari, whose own tears flowed freely. “Mommy, don’t be sad, okay? Don’t be scared. I’m just going to sleep,” Miyuki said, trying to be brave, her little hand still clinging to Sari’s.

But Sari, overcome, shook her head, her voice breaking. “Please… please, Miyuki, anak stay with us. Just give us… give us ten more minutes,” she begged.

Her body trembling as she clung to her daughter. Sobs wracked her as she pleaded, her heart shattered into pieces she couldn’t gather. "Ten more minutes, huwag mo namang iwan si Mommy oh. Plssss anak....plss" she whispered, clutching Miyuki close, as if she could hold her here through sheer love alone.

The doctor, standing quietly nearby, finally stepped forward, his face a mask of sorrow as he spoke softly, "Time of death… 3:27 p.m."

The words echoed through the room, and everyone’s hearts seemed to break at once

The words echoed through the room, and everyone’s hearts seemed to break at once. The air felt thick, filled with the sounds of quiet sobs and the unbearable weight of goodbye.

Sari collapsed into Gio’s arms, both of them broken, their tears endless as they held each other, feeling Miyuki’s presence slip away, leaving an emptiness that would never be filled.

In the arms of her family, Miyuki had finally found peace. And as the room filled with tears, everyone knew her love would remain with them, a gentle light forever etched in their hearts.

The air in the room became heavy with sorrow as everyone broke down, overwhelmed by the little girl’s courage and innocence. Sobs echoed softly as each of them felt the ache of impending loss.

Mira held Cole tightly as their twins, too young to understand the full gravity of the moment, nestled close to them, watching with wide, curious eyes.

Scarlet and Jo leaned into each other, their hearts aching for Sari and Gio. Tacia, Mica, Zach, and Kiera, too, wiped away their tears, helpless but present, standing with them through the hardest farewell.

Sari and Gio held Miyuki tightly, feeling her warmth, trying to memorize every breath, every smile. They whispered gentle reassurances, their voices breaking as they promised to always love her, never truly letting her go.

And as they held her, they felt the room fill with a sense of peace, Miyuki’s words lingering "just going to sleep" an innocent truth that somehow made them feel, for a moment, that she would always be with them, in their hearts forever.
