"Myra, hey are you home?"
Myra awoke abruptly to the voice of her older brother ringing out through the small fishing shack. JJ's voice was all too familiar to Myra, she would've recognized it anywhere and anytime. She was curled up in her bed within Rafe's strong arms. He had his sleeping body pressed up against hers and his head rested so gently within the crook of her neck. His light snores mixed with the hot summer air inside of Myra's small bedroom. For a moment it was nice, but then JJ's voice could be heard again, closer this time. "Hello, stinky? You sleeping or what?" he yelled. Myra assumed that their father wasn't home. Panic settled within her every vein as he glanced over, seeing Rafe still asleep. She had to wake him up and that was quickly. Her bedroom door wasn't locked and JJ was inching closer and closer with every passing second. If he were to open her door and see his sister laying half naked in her bed intertwined with Rafe Cameron, his sworn enemy, Myra was sure that the world would end. JJ would burn it down completely. "Rafe" Myra called out in a hushed manner as she grabbed a hold of the tall kook boy, shaking him. "Rafe come on, wake up" she urged again, careful not to speak too loudly. She couldn't risk JJ hearing her. "Rafe" she snarled, shaking him a little harder. He stirred awake, blinking his mesmerizing blue eyes up towards Myra, the girl he adored so. Seeing her in the golden morning hue, barely awake while dressed in only her underwear and his big t-shirt, it all felt like a dream to him. He stroked his hands along her arms, slowly adjusting his eyes to the light of the morning. "Good morning beautiful" he hummed with a clear rasp to his voice. "Good morning" Myra spoke with a rush, frantically looking around, "JJ is here, you have to hide... come on, hurry"
Rafe looked at Myra, his eyes slightly squinted and his eyebrows laced into a faint furrow. "Come on" Myra urged, shoving Rafe slightly as she looked at him wide eyed. "I'm not scared of your brother pearl" Rafe spoke in a hushed manner, keeping his gaze locked onto Myra. "I know, I know" Myra muttered as she stood up from the bed, grabbing Rafe's shorts and socks from off of the floor, "but I don't think you should meet like this". Rafe let a faint chuckle spill past his lips. "I've met JJ before, trust me, I think he remembers" Rafe commented. Myra stopped in her tracks, Rafe's clothes in her hands. She looked at him, a expression of frustration clear on her face. "I know Rafe, but..." she trailed. "But not as yours right? Rafe interrupted her. He shifted on the bed, a curious and teasing look in his eyes. "Scared to introduce me as your boyfriend huh?" he went on, raising his eyebrows slightly. "Now is not the time" Myra urged, taking a step closer to him, "I don't want a fight, please Rafe". Myra threw Rafe his clothes before she jumped into the bed again, pulling the covers over her legs. "Now go hide, come on, get under the bed" she urged. Rafe groaned, getting up from the bed with his clothes pressed against his chest. Myra gazed at him, seeing his messy bed hair and Atlantic blue eyes. He was only wearing his boxers, showing off his toned abs. Myra pleaded with her eyes for him to hurry up, now hearing JJ's footsteps outside of her bedroom door. With another faint and displeased groan Rafe got down on the floor and slid underneath Myra's bed to hide, pulling his feet in just a mere second before JJ swung Myra's bedroom door open.
"Ah there you are, good morning Stinky"
Myra sighed as JJ stomped his old and muddy boots into her room. Given the mud had dried, but it still made a mess, leaving dust on her floor. "Good morning Jay" she mumbled, looking at him. JJ stopped in the middle of the room, lacing his eyebrows into a furrow. "Where'd you get that shirt?" he asked, nodding his head forwards. Myra gazed down towards the shirt that she was wearing, Rafe's shirt. "Oh uhm... from the lost and found at the kook club, I borrowed it way back after a storm cause my own clothes were still drenched when I was heading home and it's just been here ever since" Myra lied with a simple shrug of her shoulders. JJ parted his lips, gazing up and down for a second. "It looks like a real kook shirt, it's making me nauseous" JJ commented, a uncomfortable look upon his face. Myra gazed over at him, noticing a small dirt stain on his left cheek and a small cut by his right eyebrow, a normal look for the pouge boy. "I know, but it's comfy so I sleep in it sometimes" Myra explained, this too being a complete lie. "Mhm" JJ mumbled as he began to move his feet again, striding over towards Myra's bed. He sat down on the edge of it, weighing it down. Myra held her breath, hoping that her brother wouldn't notice the half naked kook that laid underneath her bed hiding away from him.
