michael's back woohoo

I distracted the lady working at the fitting rooms so Luke would slide out without getting into trouble. I just sparked up a useless conversation about polyester car seats and how great they make my butt feel.

The weirder I am, the more focused people get. It's strange, but it works wonders.

Once I noticed that Luke left, I smiled sweetly at the girl, "I'm going to go sit in my car now, bye."

She batted her eyelashes at me and tried to look like I didn't just totally freak her out. I walked away and tried to located Luke's lanky body again. I scanned the large room before my eyes landed on him talking to a short brunette.

I watched as he looked around the store as she talked. He kept shifting his weight onto each leg and let his head lean back a little.

He looked like he did not want to talk to her. It was totally obvious. I slightly giggled and contemplated on whether I should go save him or not.

Me, being a good person in all, I walked over to them.

"Hey, baby. You ready to go?" I wrapped one arm around Luke's waist and pulled him into my side.

He glanced down at me and wasted a few seconds before catching on.

He draped his long arm over my shoulders and let it fall down my front, "Took you long enough, my little scrumptious pumpkin pie." He baby talked me and pulled my head into his side.

"I'm so sorry, snuggle bug. I'll be quicker next time." I winked and turned to the girl, "Thank you for keeping my Lukey here company. He's like a lost puppy when it comes to women's shopping." I smiled and placed a hand on Luke's stomach for emphasis.

Damn, his stomach felt toned as hell.

She just stood there dumbfounded and blinking like she couldn't believe what she was seeing. We were waiting for any sort of response, but the girl just awkwardly walked away.

I looked up at Luke and pulled the corners of my mouth and tried to hold back the laughter as he spoke, "Thanks, sugar lips." He began to lean down, but I brought my finger up to his lips, "Uh uh. Let's not get crazy now." I slipped out of his grip and started to exit the store.

He followed closely behind as I checked my phone to find a missed text from Olivia:

found calum, did u find luke?
-olivia

yeah im with him right now
-rebecca

ok can u get a ride home from him? im staying at calum's friend's frat tonight bc of the heat sitch in our room
-olivia

I looked back at Luke, "Can I get a ride back to campus?" I asked him. He rose an eyebrow at me, "You got that gas money?" He asked. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my phone.

yeah i'll be fine, use protection!!
-rebecca

mm hm u too ;)
-olivia

I put my phone away and stopped walking so Luke could catch up to me. Once he did, he reached for my hand. I let him lace our fingers together as we walked.

I liked holding his hand. I also liked when we weren't talking. It was nice to just walk side by side and enjoy each other's company.

"Can we hangout for a little bit longer?" He asked once the building exit came into view. I looked up at him, "Here?"

I looked down at our intertwined hands, and he began to rub his thumb over my knuckles as he spoke, "I don't think we should be seen together in public."

"Rude."

"No, I didn't mean it like that. I mean that we should minimize the chances of being seen by my boss and other guys I work with."

"Well the heat in my dorm is broken, so we probably shouldn't hangout at mine." I told him.

"It's broken?"

"Yeah."

"That means you're not staying there tonight, right?" He wondered.

I shook my head, "Nope, I don't want to die."

"Stay with me!"

"I'm already staying with someone." I lied.

He rose an eyebrow, "Who?"

"Michael." I lied. I haven't exactly him asked yet, but I know he won't say no to me. Plus he lives alone, so it's perfect.

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"Did you not want to stay with me?" He asked with a hint of hurt in his voice.

"We tend to do stupid shit when we're alone in your dorm." I pointed out.

"Correction: we tend to do fun shit when we're alone in my dorm." He poked my shoulder with his free hand.

I rolled my eyes and started to smile a little. Maybe even blush slightly?

"I'm staying with Michael tonight, love bug." I joked, concluding the conversation.

"Fine."

x.x.x

Of course Michael let me stay with him. He's so nice, he wouldn't be able to say 'no' anyways.

I brought a night's worth of necessities with me to his dorm. He smiled hugely when he opened the door to let me inside, "I'm so excited for this slumber party, Reba!" He exclaimed.

I giggled and tossed my stuff on the spare bed that was supposed to belong to a roommate, but Michael somehow got himself out of that.

Lucky son of a bitch.

"Thanks for letting me crash here, Mikey." I hugged him once I turned around from the bed. He hugged me back, "Anything for you." He said sweetly.

I smiled and pulled away from him, "So," I broke the long silence and grabbed a few CD cases from the bed. "I brought movies."

Michael was going to say something, but there was a knock on the door. He held up his finger and rolled his eyes, "One second, Reba."

I watched him as he walked over to the door and opened it up.

My heart sped up once I saw who it was beside the door.

"...Luke?"
