The dark alleys leading away from the blood bar were silent except for the soft murmurs of the vampire brothers. They moved as shadows, their presence barely a whisper in the night. Chan, at the front, glanced back at the others, his sharp eyes scanning their surroundings.

"Seungmin, you still whining about losing that poker game to Jisung?" Chan teased, his tone light despite his authoritative air.

"I wasn't whining," Seungmin muttered, earning a snicker from Jisung. "He cheated."

"I'm just better," Jisung said smugly, throwing an arm around Seungmin's shoulders. "Admit it."

Before Seungmin could retort, a sudden crash echoed from a nearby alley. The sound of snarls followed, sharp and guttural.

Chan stopped, his hand shooting up to silence the group. "Rogues," he said, his voice low.

Hyunjin frowned, his golden eyes narrowing. "Should we—?"

"We investigate," Chan interrupted, already moving toward the noise. "Stay alert."

The brothers turned the corner, and the scene before them froze them in their tracks. Three rogue vampires hunched over a limp figure, blood dripping from their fangs as they snarled and tore into the body. The human's heartbeat was faint, erratic.

"Disgusting," Changbin growled, stepping forward. "They're killing a human in our territory."

"I'll handle—" Chan began, but before he could finish, Minho surged past him, a blur of black and silver.

"Minho, wait!" Chan shouted, but it was too late.

Minho was on the rogues in an instant. His movements were brutal and efficient, a deadly combination of strength and precision. One rogue lunged at him, only to be thrown into the wall with a sickening crack. Another tried to flee, but Minho caught him by the throat, his grip merciless.

"Filth," Minho spat, snapping the rogue's neck before turning to the last one, who cowered and hissed. Without hesitation, Minho tore him apart.

The brothers stood in stunned silence as Minho knelt by the human's side, his hands trembling as he gently turned the bloodied figure over.

"Minho," Chan said cautiously, stepping forward. "What are you—?"

"Stay back," Minho growled, his voice rough. The brothers froze, not out of fear but pure shock. Minho never raised his voice.

Hyunjin, unable to help himself, crept closer. "Is he... crying?"

And he was. Minho's usually cold, emotionless face was twisted in sorrow, tears streaking his cheeks as he cradled the human. "He's just a boy," Minho murmured, his voice barely audible.

Jeongin frowned. "Minho, what are you doing? You don't care about humans—"

"Shut up!" Minho barked, his tone sharp enough to make Jeongin flinch. "He's dying. We're taking him back."

Chan hesitated. "Minho, you know our rules. We don't—"

"I don't care about your rules," Minho snapped, his eyes blazing as he looked up at Chan. "He's coming with us."

The brothers exchanged uneasy glances. Finally, Chan sighed. "Fine. But you're responsible for this."

Minho didn't reply. He stood, holding the human—Felix, as they would soon learn—close to his chest. For the first time in centuries, the unshakable Minho showed a vulnerability none of them had ever seen.

As they made their way back to the castle, Hyunjin whispered to Seungmin, "Did you see his face? That wasn't rage. That was... heartbreak."

"I didn't think Minho had a heart," Seungmin muttered, earning a glare from Changbin.
