"Through love, trust, and unwavering support, he learns to see himself the way they always have—beautiful, strong, and enough."
"Felix, focus!" Chan's voice was sharp, cutting through the studio's thick air.
Felix flinched, wiping the sweat from his forehead as he gasped for breath. His vision blurred at the edges, and his legs trembled beneath him. He could feel the eyes of his members on him—some concerned, some frustrated.
"I'm trying," he muttered, forcing himself to stand taller. He plastered on a smile, the one fans loved, the one that kept everyone from looking too closely.
"You don't look like you're trying," Minho said, less harsh than Chan but no less firm. "You're barely keeping up."
Felix's stomach twisted. He knew why. He hadn't eaten properly in weeks, just tiny meals here and there—whatever was enough to keep people from noticing. But it wasn't enough. Not for their grueling schedules, not for the endless practices, and definitely not for the dance routine Chan was pushing them through today.
"Let's run it again," Chan sighed, rubbing his temples. "From the top."
Felix bit his lip and nodded, stepping back into formation. The music blasted through the speakers, and he forced himself to move. Left. Right. Spin. Jump. Land—
The floor came up too fast.
Someone shouted his name, but it was distant, like he was underwater. His body hit the ground, and the world faded into black.
—
The hospital room was too quiet. That was the first thing Felix noticed when he woke up. The second was the pair of worried eyes staring at him from the chair beside his bed.
Hyunjin.
Felix swallowed, his throat dry. "Hyun..."
"You're awake," Hyunjin breathed, relief flooding his face. His fingers twitched like he wanted to reach out but was holding himself back.
Felix tried to sit up, but Hyunjin was on his feet in an instant, gently pushing him back down. "Don't. Just—just stay still."
Before Felix could ask what happened, the door opened, and a doctor walked in, followed by the rest of the members. Chan looked exhausted. Minho's arms were crossed tightly over his chest. Jeongin and Seungmin were unusually quiet, Changbin just shook his head, and Jisung wouldn't meet his eyes.
"You passed out due to extreme malnourishment," the doctor said, flipping through the chart. "Your weight is dangerously low—ninety-five pounds. If you continue like this, your body will start shutting down. You cannot take diet pills, and you need to eat properly. If you keep this up, Felix... you'll kill yourself."
The words felt like ice water. Felix couldn't breathe.
"Jesus Christ," Changbin muttered under his breath, dragging a hand through his hair.
Chan exhaled, pressing his fingers against his eyes like he was trying not to break. "What the hell were you thinking, Lix?"
Felix looked away, shame burning his skin. "I just... they said I was gaining weight. JYP. The fans. I didn't want to—" His voice cracked, and he stopped.
Hyunjin cursed under his breath and turned away, his hands clenched into fists.
"You don't need to starve yourself because of what they say," Seungmin said, his voice tight. "You're literally hurting yourself over lies."
"But it doesn't feel like a lie!" Felix snapped before he could stop himself. "It feels real! Every time I look in the mirror, every time I hear them say it—I believe it."
