"When a soul blooms again, so does love that never died."
"Chan."
The voice was low, steady, and carried a weight that turned the clouds outside the golden temple to static. Chan didn't look up from the map of the mortal realm laid before him, not until a familiar chill swept into the room, dragging shadows along the floor like a silken train.
Minho stood in the doorway, arms folded behind his back, dark eyes gleaming with restrained urgency. Chan straightened.
"What did you feel?"
Minho stepped forward. "Her presence. Not faint. Strong. Stirring."
Chan blinked. "Persephone?"
"It's her soul," Minho confirmed. "Reborn. In a human boy."
Chan exhaled slowly, his brow knitting. "Three hundred centuries and she chooses now to return."
"I saw him," Minho said. "In a small village. He walked past a booth of dried, brittle flowers. The moment he passed, they bloomed."
"That's not subtle," Jisung's voice came from the far side of the hall, where he leaned lazily against a pillar. "You sure it wasn't some florist with good timing?"
"It was her," Minho said firmly. "I'd know the feel of her magic anywhere. It's... fractured, untrained. But it's her."
"What's his name?" asked Chan, finally pushing the map aside.
"Felix."
Hyunjin, lounging near a pool of sunlight with a golden apple in his hand, tilted his head. "Felix. That's cute. Does he know what's inside him?"
"No." Minho's jaw tensed. "He's just a human boy—for now."
Seungmin closed a scroll and adjusted the silver chain around his wrist. "And when it wakes completely?"
"The balance will shift," Chan murmured. "Life and death don't play lightly, not when reborn. If Persephone is returning... Olympus will stir. The mortal realm might, too."
Jeongin, his voice softer than mist, added, "Dreams have started shifting. I've seen petals in the underworld again. She's waking."
Chan rose, walking down the steps to meet Minho eye to eye. "You know what this means, don't you?"
Minho nodded once. "If it's really her, I'll bring him here. I'll help him."
"And if it's not?"
"I'll still bring him."
A beat of silence passed, broken only by the faint rustling of celestial wind.
Chan placed a hand on Minho's shoulder. "Go. Find him. Bring him home."
Minho's eyes flashed like obsidian. "Thank you."
As Minho vanished in a swirl of shadow, Jisung clicked his tongue.
"He's already gone."
Hyunjin smirked. "He never stopped waiting."
Meanwhile, in the mortal village tucked between green hills and lavender fields, Felix paused in front of the flower booth, blinking in surprise.
"Whoa..." he whispered.
The once-dry roses had turned lush and fragrant in an instant, petals soft as silk. The vendor stared at them, mouth open.
"You didn't touch them, did you?" she asked.
"No," Felix said, confused. "I just... walked by."
From the shadows at the end of the lane, Minho watched with a gaze that burned like fire in winter.
