The Lost Omega (Chanlix)

Lee Minho, an alpha of the Bahng pack, sat anxiously in the hospital waiting room, his nerves palpable. Beside him, his best friend Chan and pack alpha offered support, noticing the tremor in Minho's hands. Chan wrapped an arm around him, pulling him into a comforting hug.

"Min, everything will be okay. He's away from your dad now, and you finally get to see him after all these years," Chan reassured him. Minho took a deep breath, nodding in response. They were there because the hospital had called about a 23-year-old male named Lee Felix, who had been admitted after a brutal beating by their father. A concerned neighbor had alerted the police, informing them that Felix should be with his older brother and providing Minho's contact information. The thought of seeing his little brother after a decade apart filled him with both anticipation and dread.

"Lee Minho?" A nurse emerged from a nearby room, calling his name. Both Chan and Minho stood up.

"That's me," Minho replied, his voice steady despite his racing heart. The nurse smiled gently at him.

"Follow me, hun. The doctor is with your brother now and will explain everything." She led them into the room, bowing slightly as she left. The doctor looked up from the chart he was reviewing.

"Lee Minho?" he asked.

"Yes, that's me," Minho answered, feeling a mix of hope and fear.

"Your brother is lucky to be alive. Thank goodness the neighbor called when they did; otherwise, this conversation might have gone very differently. Your brother is 23, correct?" the doctor inquired.

"Yes, sir. But I haven't seen him in ten years. Our father took him away in the middle of the night when he was 13," Minho confessed, his voice tinged with pain.

The doctor's expression turned serious. "It seems your brother has endured a very hard life. There are bones that were broken and never healed properly, fractures that went untreated, and scars from past injuries. However, what he's facing now may be the worst of it. He has two broken ribs on his right side, a broken left arm, a sprained knee, and three stab wounds. He's extremely malnourished and dehydrated due to being starved. It also appears that he presented as an omega rather late—within the last six months. His first heat could occur in a month or two, and given his condition, it's crucial that he finds a mate quickly. Without support, the experience will be excruciating for him."

Minho felt a rush of urgency at the doctor's words. "Can he be released to me?" he asked, desperation creeping into his voice.

"Yes, he can be released to you in the morning, but I don't want him to walk too much for the first two weeks. I have all the prescriptions you'll need here: an antibiotic to prevent infections, a painkiller, and three vitamins to help rebuild his strength," the doctor explained, handing Minho the medications.

As Minho absorbed the information, he felt an overwhelming mix of relief and determination. He was finally going to bring his brother home.

Minho was crying so hard that words escaped him. Sensing his distress, Chan turned to the doctor and said, "Thank you, doctor." The doctor nodded and quietly left the room, leaving Minho and Chan to gaze at the fragile omega lying in the bed.

Suddenly, Felix's eyes fluttered open, revealing the most stunning purple irises Chan had ever seen. The color was unlike any other omega's, and Chan felt an inexplicable rush of emotions coursing through him as he locked eyes with Felix. His alpha instincts stirred, howling a primal call of "Mate!" in response to Felix's own surprised gasp, echoing the same word. Minho was momentarily taken aback; if he had to choose an alpha for Felix, Chan would undoubtedly top the list. The Bahng pack was unique—comprised entirely of alphas, which was rare. Minho himself had found his mate in another alpha, Jisung, while the others had paired off as well: Hyunjin with Changbin, and Seungmin with Jeongin. Together, they formed a powerful and respected pack of seven alphas.
