"He may have gotten smaller, but their love only grew bigger."
"Hyung?"
Chan didn't look up right away. He was sitting at the kitchen table, eyes locked on the folded piece of paper in front of him like it might bite. Minho stood in the doorway, arms crossed, brows furrowed.
"Hyung, what's wrong?"
"Read it," Chan whispered, nudging the paper toward him with trembling fingers.
Minho moved closer, picking it up slowly. His eyes scanned the familiar handwriting. Then they went wide.
"No," he said, voice catching in his throat. "No way—he didn't. This has to be a prank, right?"
Chan just shook his head.
The front door creaked open. Changbin walked in with Jeongin right behind him, arms full of takeout bags and drinks. "Yo! Got food—oh. What's with the funeral faces?"
"Guys," Minho said, holding the note up like it was cursed. "Something happened. Felix..."
"Where is he?" Jeongin asked immediately, eyes darting around. "He was home when I left, right?"
"He's gone," Chan murmured. "He... he went to someone. A witch, apparently. Said he wanted to forget everything. Said he couldn't handle the pressure anymore. The fans, the company, his back—"
Jeongin's grip on the drinks tightened. "No, no, no—he wouldn't just leave."
Minho handed the note to Changbin, who took it with shaking hands. His eyes narrowed as he read.
"He turned into a toddler?" Changbin said out loud, voice flat in disbelief. "Like, an actual baby?"
"Two," Chan corrected quietly. "He... he said it was permanent. He didn't want to come back. Said this way, he wouldn't feel broken or like a burden."
"And no one remembers him but us?" Hyunjin's voice broke through as he came out of the hallway, already holding something wrapped in a blanket. "So, is this him?"
Everyone froze. Chan stood so fast his chair screeched against the floor. Hyunjin carefully unwrapped the bundle, revealing a tiny, pouting toddler nestled inside. His soft blond curls were already a mess, and two big brown eyes stared up at all of them, wide and wet with confusion.
"D-daddy Channie?" the toddler mumbled, lip wobbling.
Chan's knees nearly gave out. "Oh my god. Lixie?"
The little boy nodded uncertainly. "Wha... where Appas? I scared..."
"Oh, sweetheart..." Chan scooped him up without hesitation, pressing him against his chest. "It's okay, you're safe. We've got you."
Felix clung to him, tiny hands fisting in his shirt. "I wan' be wif you..."
"You are, you are," Chan whispered into his hair. "You'll always be with us."
Seungmin appeared at the top of the stairs, sleep-tousled and rubbing his eyes. "What's going on down there—" He froze, staring down at the sight of Chan holding a two-year-old. "Is that...?"
"It's Felix," Jeongin said, sounding like he still didn't believe it. "He... he actually did it."
The room was silent for a beat.
Then Seungmin came down slowly and crouched in front of them. "Lixie?"
Felix peeked at him over Chan's shoulder. "Minnie?"
Seungmin smiled weakly. "Yeah, that's me, buddy."
Felix's whole face lit up. "Minnie!" he squealed, reaching for him. Chan shifted to let Seungmin take him, and Felix immediately wrapped his little arms around Seungmin's neck, planting a sloppy kiss on his cheek. "Missed you!"
