"He granted their wishes... but they gave him a forever."
"What's this ugly thing?" Jisung muttered, pulling out a dusty, old lamp from the cardboard box in the corner of their dorm's spare room.
"Hey! It's not ugly—it's... uh... vintage?" Seungmin offered, wrinkling his nose as he leaned over for a better look. "Actually, never mind. It's definitely ugly."
"Must've belonged to one of the older groups before they moved out," Chan said, taking it from Jisung's hands. "Looks like something from a movie set."
"A genie lamp!" Jeongin exclaimed, eyes widening. "Oh my god, what if—"
"No way," Minho cut in flatly, crossing his arms. "You're not seriously suggesting we rub it."
"But what if it is magical?" Hyunjin said, already reaching out. "Come on. It'll be fun. Group activity."
"Group stupidity," Changbin mumbled, but his hand joined the pile anyway.
"Okay," Chan said, chuckling, "on three. One... two... three—"
They all rubbed the lamp.
A sudden burst of violet smoke exploded from the spout, filling the room with glittering mist. The lights flickered. The air shimmered with static. And then—
A figure spun out from the center of the cloud, landing gracefully on bare feet. Flowing purple silk clung to a lean, elegant form. His long blonde hair sparkled with golden threads, framing a face too beautiful to be real—soft freckles dusted his cheeks like stars scattered across a night sky, and when he opened his eyes, they glowed a deep, otherworldly violet.
"Finally," the figure exhaled, stretching his arms above his head with a sigh of relief. "Do you know how boring a thousand years is?"
"What the hell?" Seungmin said, backing up behind Minho.
"Is this a prank?" Jisung whispered.
Felix blinked at them, clearly unimpressed. "You're the ones who rubbed the lamp. I didn't exactly invite myself."
"You're a genie?" Chan asked, still trying to process everything. "Like, an actual genie?"
Felix smiled, and it was dazzling. "Felix, at your service. Genie, spirit, wish-giver, sparkly hostage—pick your label. Since you've finally freed me from that miserable little prison, you're entitled to twenty-one wishes. That's either three wishes per person... or twenty-one shared between you."
Changbin squinted. "You're serious?"
"Would I wear this outfit if I wasn't serious?" Felix gestured down at the flowing silk, which shimmered every time he moved. "You don't dress like a disco nebula for a joke."
Jeongin stepped forward slowly, eyes still wide. "We can... wish for anything?"
Felix's grin turned playful. "Almost anything. No bringing back the dead, no mind control, and no wishing for more wishes. Everything else is negotiable."
"Twenty-one wishes," Hyunjin repeated, barely above a whisper. "We're living in a fairytale."
"A thousand-year-old fairytale," Felix muttered. "Now... what's it going to be, boys?"
Chan crossed his arms, eyes still on Felix. "Okay, first of all, I don't think we should just start throwing wishes around. Twenty-one might sound like a lot, but it'll go fast if we're not careful."
"Ugh, you're such a dad," Jisung groaned, flopping onto the couch. "Come on, Chan. We're exhausted. What if our first wish is just, like... a month off? Paid. No interviews, no choreography, no cameras."
