"It wasn't medicine that healed him—it was love."
"Hyung, is this my room?" Seungmin asked, wide-eyed as he stepped into the brightly colored bedroom with a rocketship blanket and a wall full of picture books.
"It is," Minho smiled, crouching beside him. "You get to decorate it however you want. We can even put up glow-in-the-dark stars if you want."
"Can I have a dragon?" Seungmin asked, turning to look at Minho seriously. "A big one. Green."
"A green dragon? Absolutely," Jisung said as he poked his head in. "What if we paint it breathing fire across your closet?"
Seungmin gasped, spinning around. "Yes! Fire and wings!"
"Done," Minho laughed. "We'll paint it together this weekend."
Chan leaned against the doorway, watching Seungmin take it all in. "You okay, Minnie?"
Seungmin nodded and then, without warning, launched into Chan's arms. "Thank you for picking me."
Chan blinked, then wrapped his arms around him tightly. "Thank you for choosing us, Seungmin. We're really happy you're here."
"I'm happy too." Seungmin's voice was muffled against Chan's shoulder.
"Okay, okay, don't hog him!" Jeongin said, grinning as he walked in with a plush tiger. "Look what I found! A tiger for your bed, buddy."
Seungmin grabbed it with reverence. "This my baby tiger?"
"Yup. You gotta name it though," Jeongin said.
Seungmin sat on the bed, hugging the tiger close. "Tiger Min."
Everyone laughed.
"That's perfect," Hyunjin said, walking in with a plate of cookies. "Tiger Min gets a welcome snack too."
Jisung flopped on the beanbag. "I think he fits right in."
Chan nodded quietly, his heart full.
But three weeks later, the call came.
Chan sat on the edge of the couch, phone pressed to his ear, face serious. The others gathered, sensing something was up.
"...yes. I understand. Two years old? No placements yet? How bad is his condition?"
Seungmin, sitting in Minho's lap with a coloring book, glanced up. "What's wrong?"
Minho rubbed his back gently. "Hang on, kiddo."
Chan ended the call and looked up. "There's a child at the agency. Two years old. His name is Felix."
Jisung frowned. "What happened?"
Chan took a breath. "He's very sick. Fragile. They've had no success finding a home. No one's even come to meet him. He's... small. Quiet. They said he doesn't speak much, just cries when he's alone."
Hyunjin's hand flew to his mouth. "He's only two?"
"They asked if we'd consider taking him."
Jeongin blinked. "That fast?"
"They said we were the first ones they thought of. And they're desperate."
Seungmin stood up suddenly. "We get him."
Everyone turned to him.
Minho gently said, "Minnie, it's not that simple. He's very sick, sweetheart."
Seungmin nodded fiercely. "Then he need home. Like me."
Hyunjin crouched down. "You really think we should bring him home?"
