Severus closed the door behind him as Y/n shivered in Narcissa's arms.

"My Lord?" the man asked nervously as Voldemort simply stood there, deep in thought.

Voldemort looked up, finally acknowledging Severus. "What was that about, Severus?"

"What do you mean, my Lord?"

Voldemort sighed, monitoring for them to walk away from the door and Severus followed. "I thought she was warming up to us... to the idea of this being her home."

"I think she is, my Lord. She just... she gets nightmares sometimes... and it takes a moment for her to settle back into reality."

"She was dreaming of the night I killed the Potters?"

Severus nodded.

"She was angry."

Another nod.

"Why would she care?"

"Forgive my boldness, my Lord, but... she grew up with them. I imagine, during the dream, she was sent back to that time... before she knew you, I mean. It was a hard time for her... she blames herself for not being able to save them, yet she hates that they were the reason you disappeared for all those years. She's confused, right now, and these abilities... they seem to only be making things worse. She sees things she has no understanding of and feels others' emotions deeply."

Voldemort nodded as Severus explained.

"How often does she have these dreams?" he asked.

"She wasn't having them at all for a while... but she was taking a potion to help her sleep. Once she stopped that... they were quite intense but I thought they slowed down a bit."

"She was taking a potion to help her sleep?"

Severus nodded. "After that night in the graveyard... she found it hard to sleep."

Voldemort stopped walking abruptly and turned to face Severus. "Does she hate me, Severus? Does she hate me the way she hates Seth?"

Severus shook his head. "No, my Lord. I don't think she could ever hate anyone that much."

The Dark Lord seemed satisfied with this answer and released Severus from their discussion, allowing him to return to Y/n.

My skin felt as if it was on fire and nothing seemed to soothe the growing pain. Even as Narcissa held me close to her, as a mother would a child, I still could not find relief. An icy wind whipped through the room as I watched my skin begin to glow.

"No... not again," I muttered, trying to recall the training I'd learned in the two months I'd spent with Bella. I took several breaths as I focused on the bed beneath me, the blanket over my body, Narcissa's hand against my hair, and the sound of her voice as she promised everything would be okay.

Bella cautiously approached us and placed a hand on my shoulder. I turned to face her as she took a seat next to me.

"You know how to control this, sweetheart. You've done it before."

I nodded and they helped me sit up. I wiped my palms on my pants as my hair blew out of my face and a chill ran along my spine. The wind slowly died down as the glow disappeared and I breathed a sigh of relief.

The door opened suddenly and Severus stepped into the room. "How is she?" he asked.

"I'm right here, you know?" I chuckled, holding out my hand. Bella moved to the other side of the bed and Severus took my hand, sitting next to me. "Are you feeling better?" he asked me.

I nodded. "I just saw a memory... of the night it happened and I guess it sent me back there... before I had this." I squeezed his hand, doing the same to Narcissa's and she smiled at me, knowing what I meant.

"You'll always have us, Y/n," Bella promised.

Another promise we had no way of keeping.
