"Are you out of your damn mind?" Severus hissed once I'd finally returned to Hogwarts.

"You'd said you'd give me time!" I retorted.

"I said I'd give you time to rest! Not to leave Hogwarts. Where did you go?"

"That's none of your concern!" I hissed.

He grabbed my arm forcefully as I tried to walk away from him and pressed me against the wall. "Where. Did. You. Go." His face was inches from mine and the rage was building.

"Get away from me!" I shouted, lifting a hand to smack him. He grabbed my wrist so I brought the second hand forward but he grabbed that as well, pulling me close to his chest.

"You gonna hit me?" he growled. "Huh? You want to hit me, princess? Maybe I should let you. Maybe then you'll let go of this anger weighing you down."

"I'm not angry!" I shouted but he scoffed.

"You can lie to yourself, darling, but you can't lie to me. I know you far too well for that." He secured both of my wrists above my head with one hand as his other hand began gently brushing my cheek. "Why won't you talk to me, sweet girl? This anger isn't good for you." He moved his lips to my forehead but I moved away, struggling in his grip. "Oh, sweetheart," he cooed. "It's consumed you. Not even my lips can remove this anger from you." He moved his lips to my neck, gently pressing kisses along the skin and up my jaw. "I won't let you push me away, darling. We've been through far too much together and I love you far too much to let you push me away when you're hurting.." His lips brushed my ear before he pulled away, searching my eyes. "You need to be mad at the world? Fine. I'll burn it down with you. You want to hit something? Go right ahead! I'll hold the punching bag. Hell, you can punch me if it'll make you feel better. You have every right to be angry but it will consume you, my love, and I will not let you simply walk away and suffer alone. I promised you that I would always look out for you and I would take care of you. This is part of that! You're stuck with me, beautiful, and you don't get to walk away."

My knees felt weak as I struggled to keep myself upright and keep my face expressionless.

"I'm not going to walk away from you, my love... and I won't let you walk away from us either."

"Sev..."

"I know, my darling... I know," he soothed, gently releasing my wrists and they fell around his shoulders as he took my face in his hands. "You can yell at me all you want. I'm not going anywhere."

I shook my head and he gently pressed his lips to mine, silencing my protests as I melted into him. "What can I do, sweet girl? Talk to me."

"Not here."

He nodded, taking my hand in his and leading us to his chambers. When we made it inside he closed the door behind us and sat us on the bed, waiting for me to speak.

"They had Harry, Sev... they were so close to... to killing him."

"When they called you to Malfoy Manor?"

I nodded. "They thought maybe I could identify him since I'd taught him for 6 years. Sev, they just barely made it out alive and Dobby..." My voice breaks. "He... he didn't make it."

"Oh, darling, I'm so sorry. I know how much he meant to you." He stands from the bed, crossing the room.

"I'm sorry, Sev... I'm so sorry. I didn't mean anything... I just..."

He gently shushed me, wrapping his arms around me. "No apologies, love. I know you didn't mean it. You can yell at me whenever you need to."

I chuckled and we stayed like this for a while before finally laying down for the night.
