The dagger had traveled with them. It would land somewhere. My mind began racing as I worried where exactly the dagger would land.

"We're dead!" Bella shrieked. "Do you understand? Dead!"

"Calm down!" I yelled, turning to her. "Why the hell did you call him here? We lost! There was nothing we could do! The only thing you've done by calling him here is sentence us all to death!" I dragged my hand through my hair as I began pacing the room, trying to figure out how we could escape this.

Bella and Lucius began arguing as my mind flipped through possibilities that wouldn't get them all killed. If I told Tom Harry was here and we'd lost him we were dead. If I told him we'd called him for no reason we were dead.

"Everybody, shut up!" I yelled as their arguing grew to be unbearable. Silence filled the room as I pressed my fingers to my temples, trying to soothe the growing ache. "Somebody get me a damn tonic!" I yelled and a man I didn't recognize scurried out of the room and quickly returned with a glass. I downed it quickly, handing it back to him and swallowing the bitter liquid. "If your name isn't Malfoy or Lestrange get the hell out." I turned to the remaining Death Eaters in the room. "You breathe a word of this to anyone and I'll make certain you're the first person on his list."

They nodded and quickly scurried out of the room as Rodolphus turned to me. "What do we do?"

"I'm working on that," I replied. I exhaled sharply, looking around the room, before turning to Bella. "Pay off Greyback and the other snatchers. Not a word of this to anyone or I'll have their heads." She nodded as I continued. "We captured a group of students we thought were Potter and his friends but we were wrong. They were tortured but escaped before we could return them to Hogwarts. He'll be angry but not as angry as if we had actually lost Potter." They nodded and I sent Bella off to pay off the snatchers as Rodophus approached me.

"You sure you know what you're doing?" he asked.

"When do I ever know what I'm doing?" I chuckled and he rolled his eyes, following Bella out of the room as Narcissa approached me. She pulled me into a hug, whispering a hushed thank you.

I nodded as we pulled away. "Not a word."
