Happily ever after?

A lot of things happened. The blip, Avengers fighting, dying, reuniting. Matt and Natalie disappeared in the blip, so did Fisk before my men could kill him. My men disappeared too. Most of them. Karen and Foggy too.

It was hell for five years. So instead of just supplying weapons to the Avengers , I helped bring all those people back who had disappeared. And then Tony died. Followed by Natasha and Steve. Went to Steve's funeral with Matt and Natalie. Now I not only supplied weapons to S.H.I.E.L.D. but also to Stark Industries run by Pepper, and Pym Technologies.

Kept up the mafia relations and also the law firm. It went back to normal. Crime rose after the blip so Matt and I fought with small time criminals and saved people every night.

Present day :

I walked from the firm to Josie's bar where I was supposed to meet with Matt, Karen and Foggy . Our business partnership was back on track and it had been going well. We got clients, won cases, lost some too but won them again in retrials.

As for Natalie, we got her in therapy with one of my former colleagues. She was trying to fit in but struggling either with  some personal problems which she wouldn't talk about so we wanted her to have a safe space to talk about it, hence, therapy 3 days a week. I had a hunch that it wasn't just personal problems but the effects of the blip.

She was recovering and that is all that mattered.

I entered the bar just as the smell of drinks caught my nose and the sound of laughter spilled onto the street. Walking in I got a table for the four of us. Few minutes later the friend trio walked in. I waved them over with a huge smile.

Matt literally ran up to me , "Hi!" , he kissed my forehead.
"Hi love."

"How was work today?" I asked as everyone sat  at the table.

"New clients, old clients for retrials and I spent the day figuring out how to flirt,"Foggy answered with a mischievous grin.

"Flirting? With whom?" I asked , intersted to hear where this was going.

Karen pointed me towards a woman sitting at the bar. Defense Attorney Kirsten.
"Ah," I chuckled. "She is pretty and intelligent but she doesn't really engage in mundane conversations."

"Talking with me can never be mundane," Foggy answered a bit too excited as he walked away and over to her.

"He is not going to start with the incomplete story of his mother wanting him to be a butcher, is he?"

Matt and Karen laughed as all three of us kept looking over at our friend chatting up his crush.

"Did he just call us W,M,N and P?;" Karen laughed.

I snorted as I downed my drink. All three of us kept an eye on Foggy and his crush, listening carefully to their conversation as we kept on drinking. But then he got a phone call and stepped away to take it. I munched on chips and salsa as I texted Natalie telling her to go to sleep if her mafia assignments were done.

She had insisted on taking more responsibilities on handling the mafia and was learning the ropes before she was to inherit it fully.

She texted back with a thumbs-up sign. I sighed.

"Moody teenager still?" Karen asked sympathetically.

"Yep," I sighed.

"She has a point system for us too. Therapy homework. I am in the negatives," Matt winced.

"Point system?" Karen looked at us for more answers.

"Its a therapeutic evaluation of the family. Often given to teenagers struggling with opening up or mood swings or complex family situations. The point system is on the score of ten on both positive and negative sides. I order sushi for her and I get two points, I help her or comfort her, I get a point. But if I scold her and it doesn't matter if I did it out of care, I get minus five!" I explained.

"And Matt is in negatives?" she looked amused.

"Yeah," he took a sip of his Whiskey. "Because I asked her to complete her homework before her shipping weapons and because I forced her to sleep early. It was midnight!"

"I mean, she is having problems adjusting and honestly, she is in her I-Know-best stage in life. Its a phase and hopefully, it will pass," I added.

Matt suddenly froze. "What's wrong?" I asked immediately.

We saw Foggy exit the bar so all three of us followed. He was talking to some guy named Benny. Long story short, Benny had been receiving threats and he was hiding in Foggy's apartment.

Why didn't you tell me?" Matt asked.

"I didn't want you to have a reason you know," Foggy tried to explain.

We all knew what he meant, he didn't want Matt to get involved into a big conspiracy and risk his life again. Petty crimes were fines but I knew that this was something big.

"Its reason enough for me," I took out my tiny red coat from the bag and it immediately enlarged to fit me. Pym Tech, same one ant-man uses.

But we didn't get any time to go to Foggy's apartment. A loud shooing sound passed right by my side, and blood spattered on my face. I turned around, Foggy was on the ground, blood soaking his shirt. Karen immediately knelt down beside him, trying to stop the bleeding as she dialed 911.

The bar erupted in a chaos behind us as a smoke bomb was detonated and more people were shot. Matt and I charged in, both in our respective suits, trying to fight off only this one guy in a black attire and a mask covering his face. It was hard to fight in the smoke and dark as both took a couple of hits but kept going. We followed the guy to the roof of another building.

A sudden rage overtook my husband as he screamed in anguish and anger, holding the masked man and ripping that thing off his face. It was Pointdexter. Matt was about to kill him, throw him off the roof.

"You won't be able to come back from that," I reminded him. "Let me"

Matt ignored me as he sobbed, still holding onto that evil guy tightly, and then................he dropped him.
