"Mommy!"
Makel whined as I frantically grabbed the television remote turning it up.
Woman identified as 26 year old Alexis Tran found dead in car due to a single gunshot wound to the head. Police say they're suspecting foul play as there are no damages to the car that could signal accidental death. Police has yet to identify the other person in the car, her family is devastated. If you know anything please contact Memphis Police Department so we can get this beautiful young lady justice. Back to you Mary.
"What the fuck!" I screamed terrified before picking up Makel who continued to whine. "Mommy sorry, shh, I know I scared you."
My whole body shook as I paced back and forth rocking Makel. I could feel my eyes welding up with tears at this point. All I could pray was that Shamir had nothing to do with this. When I told him about the situation I wasn't giving him the okay to hurt anybody. I just felt like he should know, but I see that was the wrong decision.
My phone began ringing causing me to sit on the couch and grab it.
"Hello?"
"Open the door."
Sha spoke before hanging up the phone. I slowly sat my phone down hesitating to open the door. Once I finally mustered the courage, I let him inside watching his every move.
"Twin!" Sha yelled causing Makel to come jump in his arms. I stood back against the wall watching them interact. "Wassup buddy? Dada missed you."
"I miss you." Makel grinned hugging Shamir neck. I watched Sha make his way to Makeio who was laid out on the couch napping. He leaned down pecking his forehead before finally acknowledging me.
"Wassam Kenz?"
"Hi." I spoke sounding very unsure.
"You good?" He asked walking up on me. I quickly stepped back pushing my back against the wall. It was so awkward, and he definitely picked up on the vibe. "What you doing allat' for?"
"H-Have you heard the news?" I questioned playing with my fingers.
He twisted his lips before chuckling, "Hip me."
"Alexis...she um...passed last night. It's been all over the news. I'm surprised you haven't heard anything."
"I don't watch the news."
He turned around taking a seat on the couch and patted the seat beside him. I slowly made my way over sitting down directly beside him. I took Makel out his arms and turned him to face me.
"Kel sweetie, go to your room and play right quick."
He nodded taking off down the hallway and I looked over at Sha who was already staring at me with a blank expression.
