"Yes I'm sorry!"
"Say that shit louder."
"I'M SORRY SHA!" I screamed out before falling face forward into my pillows. Sha flipped me over pushing his lips against mines before snuggling into my neck. I wrapped my arms around him squeezing him tightly, inhaling his fresh scent. My body relaxed in his arms and I could feel the tears weld up in my eyes.
"I missed you so much." I lifted Sha head up so that we were eye to eye.
"I missed you more."
We pecked lips again before he laughed at me.
"Why the tears?"
"The pain, the pleasure, the hormones...who knows these days?" I shrugged causing him to laugh yet again. "Seriously, look at us, we're getting married and I'm having your baby. Who knew?"
"Right." He scooted over laying flat beside me. We both stared up at the ceiling and I felt his strong hand rub across my belly. "This my baby girl right here, I can feel it."
I laughed, "You can?"
"Yes," Sha licked over his lip, "I'm tryna be a girl dad."
"You ARE a girl Dad." I corrected and he looked over at me confused.
"Huh? Wait..."
Sha sat up quickly staring down at me. I just giggled as he looked back and forth between my stomach and eyes. He used his index finger to point at my stomach before finally catching on to what I was saying.
"A daughter?" He asked and I watched his eyes light up.
"Your FIRST one."
"Let's go!"
He jumped off my bed fist pumping the air. I giggled rubbing my hand across my stomach. Found out I was having a girl the day before court. Hearing that gave me hope that he'd come home, and he did. The fact that I prayed and prayed for this little girl and God blessed me instantly shows that this was meant to be.
"That's my baby!" Sha clapped rubbing his hands on my belly.
"Surprise!"
"That's the best thing I've heard since coming home Mari. That shit just made my day for real." Sha grinned before placing his hands on his head in shock. I watched his gaze and he seemed deep in thought.
"What's on your mind?"
"Hm? Oh, nothing. J-just happy we're having a girl."
"You sure? It looked like something just bothered you."
"Nah, I'm good." Sha smiled, "It's still Shamiyah?"
"Nope...thinking of something else. What about Shamia? Think that's more like it." I answered and he shook his head.
