luke.

tuesday.
luke leaned himself against his locker, not really paying any attention to what his friends were talking about. his eyes snapped right back up when someone passed them. andie's hair bounced on her back as she walked down the hallway. michael noticed his sudden attention to something else, so he smirked and shook his head.
"what?" luke muttered and let his hands slip down his pockets.
"you know, she won't talk to you just because you stare the shit out of her. and besides, it's andie, why are you getting so worked up on her?" he teased.
michael didn't know about luke and andie getting detention every so often, but he figured out luke's interest in her when he wouldn't stop looking at her as she passed them every morning.
"i'm not getting worked up on her." he denied with a slight pout on his face.
"whatever helps you sleep at night."
ashton's presence soon joined them, and he seemed as happy as always. he had his bottom lip between his teeth and his hands in his pockets.
"what's up?" he chirped and examined them both.
"nothing. luke's just drooling over andie as usual." michael remarked, shrugging sloppily. luke shoved his crazy haired friend before walking towards his class without saying another word.
his first lesson made him rather restless and bored. he was sometimes close to dozing off, but fortunately his friend would nudge him every now and then. the teacher spoke in such a monotonic voice, he sometimes wondered if she was a robot.
luke let out a sigh of relief when lunch time finally caught up with them. he met his friends in the cafeteria, but he was the first one to sit down. his eyes travelled around each table until they landed on the two familiar friends sitting by the corner.
"hey, handsome." britney accompanied him first, disturbing his hawk-like stare at andie. honestly, he felt a bit creeped out with himself.
"hi." he smiled politely at her before focusing on the food in front of himself. britney didn't say much, she sensed that he wasn't really in the mood, and he appreciated her for not babbling on about something he couldn't care less about.
"can i ask you something?" britney suddenly asked, surveying everything around them.
"hm?" luke mumbled and gazed up at her. once he realized what she asked, he nodded, encouraging her to ask her question.
"okay, this is awkward but... how do you know if a guy likes you?" she asked almost shyly and twirled a piece of her hair. luke raised his eyebrows at her, completely surprised by her question.
"oh, i'm totally the wrong person to answer that. guys don't tend to be very obvious when they like someone. but that definitely depends on who the person is. why?" he tried to explain, but he really didn't have a good answer to that.
"do you promise it stays between is?" she wanted to assure herself and bit on her lip.
"yeah, of course." he chuckled and ushered for her to spit it out before anyone else of their friends would join them.
"i think that i like ashton." she blurted out and scratched the back of her neck. luke was surprised to say at least, but he slowly smirked and tugged on his lip ring.
"well that was unexpected. since when?" he continued asking and jokingly stroked his chin. britney snorted and gazed down with a sheepish smile.
"i don't know. i just... feel it when i'm with him. it's been going on for a few weeks now, but you know ashton. he's happy, kind and touchy with everyone." she sighed at the end and pulled both hands through her hair.
