saturday.

this was the day. or well, night. andie and crystal sat on the couch in nikki's living room, watching a movie to occupy themselves. nikki was there too, but she was on her phone.

andie was rather nervous and it was half an hour until luke would pick her up. hell, she was almost shitting her pants just thinking about leaving australia for a couple of days. crystal rested her head against her sister's side, yawning quietly.

"when is he picking you up?" nikki asked after a while and checked the time.

"around one." andie smiled tiredly, putting an arm around crystal's shoulder.

"wow, that's soon." nikki frowned with her lips and stretched her arms. they were all pretty tired to be honest.

"yeah... is it really a good idea if i go? maybe i should stay, tell them i'm stick or that i—"

"shut up, you're going." nikki cut her off and sat bent forward.

"jeez, thanks for the lovely tone, mom." andie deadpanned with sarcasm and shook her head faintly.

luke was a bit more energetic and excited, pacing around his living room, occasionally checking the time. liz and jack were up for his sake and sat by the table, both drinking a cup of tea.

he realized after a while that he had to get going, so he sat down beside his mother with a smile.

"i have to go." luke mumbled and fiddled with his ring. liz sighed and gave him a tight hug, still, after a few years, she wasn't used to letting her son just fly off sixteen hours away from them.

"i love you, and be careful." liz mumbled and kissed her son on the cheek.

"love you too. of course, ashton's like a dad when we're there anyway." luke chuckled hoarsely.

"okay, see you when you get back then." she sighed sadly.

luke gave her a short nod before saying goodbye to jack and seized his small suitcase. as he sat down in his car, he realized how nervous he actually was.

"andie?" crystal yawned, looking up her with her light blue eyes.

"hm?" andie mumbled back and smiled weakly.

"i'm gonna miss you a lot." crystal confessed, a sad smile on her face.

"don't say that." andie groaned and hugged her tightly. "i'm gonna miss you too, but it's only a few days."

"it's still long for us." crystal sighed against andie's chest, closing her eyes. and it was true, being from each for merely two days felt like years for them, so this was a lot worse.

someone knocked on the door so faintly as if a bomb would explode if the person knocked any harder. andie smiled before letting go of crystal, making her way over to the hallway and opened the door.

"hey, you." luke grinned at her and let his hands slide down his pockets.

"hey." she smiled sheepishly before taking a step to the side so that he could come in, which he did.
