saturday.
"i am so not ready for this plane to rise yet." andie uttered once everyone was seated. she sat by the window, with luke closely beside her.
"your nervousness is so cute, do you know that?" luke chuckled but quickly shut his mouth when she sent him a deathly glare.
she stared at the darkness outside, already knowing she'd fall asleep once they were flying. he stared with her, but would frequently admire her instead of the few lights from the airport.
"so it's decided that we're sharing a room?" she asked quietly. luke could swear that he felt excited just by hearing her say it.
"as long as you want to." he shrugged, forcing a calm frame.
andie merely smiled for the next minutes. well, until the captain announced that they were ready to go. that's when the clutched the arm support a little tighter and inhaled a sharp breath.
luke, this time not so confidently, put his fingers between hers, in an attempt to calm her down. and it worked a bit. she relaxed slowly and let him lace their fingers together when the wheels rolled against the ground, and they drove to the runway.
andie turned her head to smile gratefully. she parted her lips before staring out the window again as soon as the plane picked up a hasty speed and prepared for take off. during the time that the plane moved up in the air, luke held her hand tightly and rubbed her knuckles with his thumb.
an hour or so later, most people on board were asleep, even luke. andie sighed and felt like there was something she needed to do, as if it was a heavy weight on her shoulder. she gazed around herself until her eyes landed on calum, who sat beside luke. it was a three-seat row.
unclasping her seat belt, she smoothly placed herself in front of his seat. he was asleep too, so after she had made sure that no one from their group was awake, she poked his arm to awake him. but it didn't work.
"cal?" she whispered, but he didn't stir at all. looking upwards in annoyance and slight guilt, her hand slapped his cheek, but not too hard. after countless occasions of waking up beside him and not being able to talk him awake, she discovered that a slap would always wake him up. he was a heavy sleeper.
"oh, fuck off andie." calum groaned tiredly, shifting in his comfortable seat.
"how did you know it was me?" she asked an bent forward a little.
"you're the only one who knows how to wake me up. and who else would fucking slap me?" he deadpanned at her and rubbed his eyes.
"sorry for waking you up, but i have to say something." she sighed and felt some remorse for waking the poor puppy up.
"i'm all ears." he smiled, that sort of smile that caused his chubby cheeks to take up his whole face.
"i'm not mad at you at all, actually." she confessed, biting her lip briefly. "i remembered that you're my best friend. i won't say brother because that'd be a weird and gross thing to say considering we have sex. or had." she corrected herself and scrunched her whole face up.
"so you're not mad?" calum laughed hoarsely, sitting more straight. andie smiled while shaking her head.
"no, i'm not. i can't be mad when you've done such a kind thing. and besides, we're never mad at each other. that'd be horrible." she fixed his beanie a bit and took her bottom lip between her teeth.
