friday.
"in lack of any ideas of places to take you on a date to, this is the one i came up with on such a short notice." luke sighed and removed his hands from her eyes.
andie gazed at the treehouse and stupidly rolled her eyes, yet she had a smile on her face.
it was rather crazy to think about how many times they'd hung out those past days, especially after crystal's birthday. he would take her out very often, and their most visited place was probably the beach so far. it was a lovely place to simply sit and talk at, and if they got bored, there was a whole ocean in front of them.
she was still generally weary, not telling him why either, but she had made some time for him. it did start to worry him, and he had asked a few times, but she just brushed the question off.
"it's great, luke. don't worry." andie assured him and started walking towards the door.
"but i did bring my guitar." he smiled, walking her towards the little bedroom on the second floor.
"really? i'm finally going to hear you sing?" she gasped teasingly and sat down on the sheets.
"yes." he sheepishly smiled and placed himself in front of her, reaching for the guitar which was already there; he had brought it there earlier.
"about time. and you better be good, or else i've been excited for nothing." she warned, pulling her fingers through her hair. luke stared at her, suddenly feeling so damn nervous because of her comment, pressured to actually be good now. she noticed that and shut her eyes tightly. "sorry, you're probably amazing."
"thanks." he said sarcastically and strummed on the strings until he found the right melody.
andie was anticipated to say at least, and she tried to hide the smile on her face. when he began singing though, it faltered because she was honestly surprised over how amazing his voice was.
she recognized the song almost immediately — it was one of the lyrics she was allowed to read a few weeks earlier.
luke was flustered at first, but the second he closed his eyes and sang, that disappeared. he dared to look at her after a while, and never tore his eyes away after that.
they both captivated each other for a reason each. he was intrigued by her concentration, and how it seemed as if her lips turned dry due to them being parted. she was amazed by how it all seemed so natural to him, as if he was born with the ability to sing, write and play the guitar.
"wow." she uttered once he was finished and put the guitar away again. he shyly smiled and crossed his legs over each other. "you're really talented, lucas."
"thanks." he laughed and laid on his side carefully. she turned to her side, with her elbow propping her up as support and bit on her bottom lip.
"what's the song called by the way?" she asked curiously and frowned slightly.
"uh, vapor."
"huh." she exhaled with a head nod and gazed down at him. "you know, this is probably the second time ever that i've looked down at you."
"oh gosh." he laughed and pushed her arm so that she unexpectadly fell down with her upper body. "not anymore."
"ow." she mumbled and turned to lay on her back instead. "you're such a giant."
"can i ask you something?" he spoke up, averting his eyes from her profile to her chest.
"you just did." she stated and turned her head to look at him. he rolled his eyes and bit on his lip ring.
