andie.

~:~

sunday.

"are you ready?"

andie still had her eyes closed and bit on her thumbnail. she let out a doubtful sound and crossed one leg over the other one.

"no." she finally responded and let her head hang low.

"i'll blow dry it first then." michael laughed and reached for the item. he plugged it in and turned it on, aiming at andie's hair.

"if you've ruined my hair..." she warned severely and heard him click his tongue.

"don't worry, it looks great." he said more loudly because of the sound from the hair dryer.

"won't believe it until i see it." she mumbled and nervously fiddled with her fingers.

michael hummed until every strand of her hair was completely drained from water. he put the object away and stood in front of her instead, tilting his head to the side while thinking. he ruffled her hair shortly, brushing it back, and then crouched down to fix her bangs.

"okay, how about now?" michael asked, crossing his arms against his chest.

with a sigh, andie slowly opened her eyes and met his instantly. he had a smile on his face while stepping to the side, so she could see her reflection in the mirror.

"oh my holy shit." she exhaled and pulled her fingers through the ends of her hair. "did you bleach it or dye it...?"

"i actually only dyed it, i didn't think i had to bleach. and i didn't. your hair is easily affected, thankfully." michael smiled proudly and then laughed at her reaction.

"thank you." she laughed with him and carefully stood up from the chair.

"no problem." he grinned and followed her out of the bathroom.

they both sunk down in the couch at the same time, and andie crossed her arms against her stomach. glancing down at her hair against her chest, she smiled weakly and pursed her lips together.

she had made the decision so drastically that morning and called michael almost immediately. it was both a spontaneous thought, yet not, considering it had crossed her mind before. she just never thought she'd actually do it.

the door opened from the hallway, and seconds later, mrs. clifford entered the living room with two bags in her hands. she greeted them with a smile, put the bags down in the kitchen and then returned with a frown.

"you practically had black hair when i left." she directed her words to andie and seemed very confused. "and now you're blonde."

"how do you know i'm the same girl?" andie joked with a smirk and pursed her lips. mrs. clifford cocked her head to the side and laughed a little.

"how could anyone even forget those eyes of yours?" she pointed out, causing a smile to spread across andie's face. "it's very pretty, by the way."

"thank you." andie replied and sat more firmly. she watched as the woman wandered back to the kitchen and then tucked some hair behind her ears.

"do you realize that you look so different? people won't even recognize you." michael chuckled and rolled his phone against his lap.

"good. maybe they'll stop staring then." she retorted and pulled up her phone.

"have you ever thought of getting an instagram?" he asked out of the blue, causing her to snort mockingly.

"you're kidding, right?" she scoffed.
