monday.
luke was awoken by a strong light fighting its way behind his eyelids. he groaned quietly, stirring until he remembered that andie was in his arms, sleeping deeply. he blinked frantically to adjust his eyes with the new light, and heard footsteps coming closer to their position.
"i'll come over tonight, i promise, but right now i'm work— woah." a woman walked with her phone against her ear but stopped once she reached the two teenagers who were cuddled up on the floor.
"hello." luke smiled sheepishly at her, still whispering though.
"hi..." the woman responded slowly, a frown upon her face and confusion crystal clear. "do you mind if i ask why you're here? before opening time?"
"long story. we got locked in yesterday." he shrugged sloppily, caressing andie's upper arm with his thumb.
"cozy." she mumbled, putting her phone in her back pocket. luke smiled and stiffened when she moved a bit in his arms.
"sorry for eating stuff by the way. we got a bit hungry." he apologized as he gazed at all their garbage.
"i can't really blame you. sorry for the employee yesterday who forgot about you guys." the woman sighed, pulling her fingers through her hair.
"it's okay. between you and i, it wasn't the worst night of my life." he uttered, glancing down at andie with a wide smile.
"shut up, i'm sleeping." andie suddenly murmured with a hoarse voice, but she wasn't fully awake either. she only heard faint voices who bothered her sleep.
"hey, are you awake?" luke stroked her cheek and suppressed a laughter.
the employee raised her eyebrows but left them nonetheless, thankfully not interrogating them. andie clutched his shoulder in an attempt to sit up properly, but she ended up resting her forehead against it instead.
"i feel awful, like i'm gonna vomit." she groaned and put a hand against her stomach.
"that sounds unpleasant. i'd appreciate if you didn't puke on my shoulder though." he chuckled and stroked her back.
"oh crap. school." she sighed and stood up completely. he mentally sighed himself when her body heat disconnected from his torso.
"we're late. we have approximately ten minutes until our first class starts." luke informed her, standing up too.
"then let's go." andie scratched her head before gathering her skateboard. she followed luke out the store, and he moved towards his car, which she now would never forget.
"do you want a ride?" luke grinned and placed himself in the driver's seat. she rolled her eyes before sitting down beside him, clasping her seat belt.
"only because we're running late." she pointed her finger at him to get her message through and gazed out the window as usual.
"why do you like that skateboard so much?" luke asked curiously and drove towards the school.
"a friend got me it a few years ago. i guess it means a lot to me." she shrugged and smiled unconsciously. it was calum who had gotten her the object, and she found the gift sweet.
"cute."
from there, silence took over them and andie's eyes remained glued on the view as he drove. she would occasionally fiddle with the sleeve of the hoodie without thinking about it.
