saturday.
luke sat on the couch and played some fifa with his brothers. he was currently in the lead, despite the fact that he played against jack and ben.
"you guys really suck at this." luke chuckled after a while and licked his lips in concentration.
"because we actually have a life beside this game." jack snapped and leaned forward in his position.
"shut up." luke groaned, earning a scolding sound from his mother.
"language!" liz said from the kitchen, earning an eye roll from all her three sons.
"i wasn't even cussing, mum!" luke defended himself and sat up straight.
"luke called me a fu—" jack started, but was cut off by luke elbowing his stomach harshly, and being the boys they are, a playful fight was initiated on the couch.
"my mature sons." andrew, their father, commented as he made his way past them and into the kitchen.
"hey, jack and luke are the immature ones." ben objected, crossing his arms.
"hey!" the other two brothers said in unison and temporarily stopped fighting.
luke froze when the doorbell rang. well, until his body rushed over to the door before anyone else could do it. all of the family members sent him weird looks as he fixed his flannel quickly and slowly opened the door.
andie took a deep breath before the door opened and put on a smile, which grew wider when she laid eyes on luke.
"hey." she grinned, biting her lip to stop doing that.
"hi." luke smiled and took in her appearance quickly with wide eyes and his lips parted.
first of all, nothing she wore was black. second of all, she was wearing a dress. a red one, with small, white flowers as pattern, and a very thin, brown belt around her stomach. it was a bit puffy at the lower part, and she wore a dark jeans jacket too. she had taken the time to properly straighten her hair, letting it tumble down her shoulders. luke stared at the beauty in front of him before blinking back to reality.
"what?" andie asked, scanning herself quickly. "why are you staring?"
"you look stunning." luke breathed out, shaking his head slightly. "you look... wow."
"thanks, you too." she said truthfully and intertwined her hands awkwardly.
they both looked down at their feet with a smile, also feeling like blushing. but andie was incapable of blushing, so she peered up at him and then behind his shoulder, where his family still gazed at them.
"oh sorry, come in." luke giggled and took a step to the side. andie did so and surveyed what she could see of the house this far.
"you know, that red flannel really makes it look like we're matching. again." she pointed out and tucked her hair behind her ears.
"what a good thing i'm home so i can change then." he chuckled and took in her outfit again.
"you don't have to do that." she shook her head and turned around so she could look at him. "but if you tell anyone about my clothes, i'll hurt you. i'm only wearing this for a good first impression." she said quietly, instantly reacting when his parents approached them.
"hi, sweetie." liz smiled softly and stretched out her hand.
"hi, mrs. hemmings. how are you today?" andie smiled back, shaking her hand. her smile was genuine though, it wasn't forced.
