sunday.

"we're what?!" luke cried and widened his eyes. you'd think andie would be the one to panic over such a situation, and luke would secretly enjoy it.

"are you deaf? the stupid cashier forgot to call out if anyone was still here and bloody forgot about us." andie paced around in a small circle, biting her lip almost too hard.

"how can they just forget that? that's stupid."

"do you have a phone on you?" she asked, blinking at him. luke's hands slid down his pockets, but there was no phone there.

"no, i left it at home. you?"

andie scowled before shaking her head and surveying the area around them. she just wanted to go home and sleep, but no.

"we could put all the lights on again, but someone will probably see it and assume we're robbers. the police are the last thing we need." she wondered out loud and moved around, not wanting to stand still.

"you know how to do that?" luke asked curiously and crossed his arms over his chest.

"yeah, i used to work on a supermarket. i basically know everything." she sighed and puckered with her lips, thinking of every possibility and solution.

"then how do we get out?"

andie gazed at him with an expression that made him seem like the dumbest person on earth. she rubbed her temples and shook her head at the same time.

"it's a grocery store, not some super-secret organization with some complicated exit. we get out with the help of a key, which we do not possess." she said matter-of-factly, but then felt bad for sounding so harsh.

"right." he mumbled and sank down with his back against the wall and his legs against his chest. andie eyed him before doing the same – their arms were touching because of how close she sat to him.

"sorry, it's just... crystal's going to get worried if i don't get home soon, we have school tomorrow and nikki will for sure kill me." she lied about the last part and pressed her lips together.

"so what do we do now?" he asked and turned his head to face her. his eyes examined her profile for a short moment, and she just shrugged lazily.

"make the best out of the situation and try not to kill each other."

"you know that last part only applies to you, right?" luke chuckled and raised his eyebrows. andie blinked and gazed up at the roof, trying to hold back a smile.

"i'm hungry." she stated before getting up on her feet again, looking to the sides. "i'll be back." she tried imitating arnold schwarzenegger's voice as a terminator.

luke watched as she disappeared to the fruits section and bit on his bottom lip. he couldn't help but to take a quick peek at her bum with a weak smirk. andie snatched a water bottle on the way and poured water over two boxes filled with strawberries. she smiled in content and brought the boxes back to luke.

"now you're robbing the place." he remarked as she sat down beside him.

"we're borrowing. ssh." she shushed him with a grin and ate a strawberry.

"you said you were hungry?"

"not that hungry, just hungry for something small." she explained, offering him a box for himself. he gladly accepted it and ate too.
