sunday.
luke woke up with the biggest headache he's ever had. groaning, he turned around in his bed and rubbed his pounding head.
he never drinks too much, never been fond with it. but they started playing beer pong the night before, and he honestly forgot when he even began drinking too much. all he knew was that michael was constantly by his side, which was a good thing of course.
after properly waking up, he noticed the pain killers and a glass of water by his side. gladly swallowing them, he stood up slowly and surveyed his room, almost thinking he was somewhere else but home — until he remembered it was re-painted and poster free.
luke walked over to the kitchen and found his mother there, washing the dishes. he kissed her cheek and then leaned his body against the counter, arms folded together.
"morning. how's your head?" liz asked with a warm smile and turned the tap off.
"could've been better." he laughed and scratched the back of his neck. "did you leave me those pills?"
"yeah, michael told me to when he dropped you off. he seemed to be in a bit of a rush, drove away immediately." she shrugged and dried her hands off.
"wait, he drove?" he widened his eyes in surprise.
"don't worry, he was barely affected. and he said it was urgent."
"weird." he mumbled and fiddled with his ring.
"would you like some breakfast, honey?" she asked and turned to look at him.
"no, it's fine. i think i'll ask andie if she wants to go to that breakfast café with me. otherwise i'll just make a sandwich." he smiled assuringly and pulled up his phone.
andie was laying on her stomach on the floor, facing crystal. they were drawing to occupy themselves, challenging each other to draw a specific thing.
she was currently trying to form a decent beach with palm trees, but miserably. crystal on the other hand was thoroughly and carefully drawing a circus tent. a very detailed one too.
"can i ask you something?" the younger one asked and peered up from her paper.
"of course." andie smiled and stopped her movement, not at all prepared for her sister's question that was to come.
"is nikki going to adopt us? or me, since you're eighteen."
andie's smile faded as she stared at her. crystal looked up at her and waited for an answer, parting her lips. the brunette opened her mouth to speak, but wasn't sure what to say.
"crys, there's something i need to tell you. mom called a while a—"
she was cut off by her phone ringing from beside her. sighing, she picked it up and answered, resting it against her ear.
"andie?" luke mumbled and stroked his thumb against his bottom lip.
"hey." she exhaled and suddenly felt her stomach twisting.
