"this is the girliest thing i've ever done." andie remarked while making two braids out of diana's hair.

"figured." diana smirked and scrolled through her phone. "sometimes, you just gotta be girly." she added with a shrug.

"this is a one-time thing."

"that's what she said." she mumbled, earning an eye roll from andie.

"anyway," andie said emphatically. "you wanted to talk, or ask me something."

"right, yes." diana said and fiddled with her fingers. "i wanted to talk about the formal."

"what about it?" andie said blankly and frowned.

"well, has luke asked you yet?"

andie actually laughed out loud and then snorted briefly just by the thought. once she realized that diana was in fact serious, she shut her mouth and finished the braids.

"you're kidding, right? i'm not even going on that stupid thing. so no, he hasn't asked me."

"okay, i totally get you in general, but you can't skip the formal, andie. it's a once in a life time thing." diana sighed and turned around to look at her.

"but i don't want to. i can't see the point with it." she shrugged back and folded her arms together against her lap.

"it'll be fun, and you get to dress up, and dance with luke..."

"wow. you just rattled off the reasons why i don't want to attend this event."

"i will drag your ass with me if i have to. please, just come." diana asked with a cute smile and tilted her head to the side just the slightest.

"maybe. and luke won't ask me because he knows i won't go." andie mumbled and pulled her fingers through her hair.

"then drop some hints, i don't know."

"has michael asked you?" she asked with her eyebrows raised.

diana sheepishly smiled and looked down at her hands, silently responding. she nodded and gazed back up at her friend.

"yeah. he asked me the other day."

"cute."

rolling her eyes with a smile, diana stood up and moved towards the kitchen. she poured some juice in two glasses and bit on her bottom lip.

"maybe you should just straight up tell luke that you want to go." she said nore loudly and returned to the living room.

"but i don't want to." andie said seriously and raised her eyebrows. "i can dance with luke whenever i want, we can all hang out whenever we want, and i don't wear dresses."

"andie." diana laughed and shook her head a bit. "everyone's going. are you gonna' sit at home and do nothing?"

"yes."
